Someone recommended a book for introverts I believe called Quiet. I haven’t read it yet, and not sure it’s exactly what you’re looking for, but I struggle with this too. When I have a busy week at work I don’t have the energy for friends/family in the weekends 😞

Love this book. As an introvert it made me look at my strengths differently. I no longer felt like I had to fake being an extrovert after I read it.

I hate going out for business dinners, lunches etc. And often have solid excuses to get out of these obligations. Being in a visible position, this is detrimental to my career! I can fake being an extrovert but its exhausting! Today, I have chairman visiting and I am bed trying to think of ways to get out of lunch! I must be an idiosyncratic case... lol

PhD in Chemistry w/ 8 YOE. Now pursuing a part-time MBA while working as an R&D manager is a chemical company. I don't enjoy chemistry research anymore and want to try something else. I'm interested in consulting and think it could open doors for me to do something different after a few years. My main struggle is that I think I'm pretty old to make such a change (if I can get into consulting) ...not sure if anyone has a similar background that can share the insights.

Are other companies' big data systems as bad as Amex's?

Amex is the only company I've been with so I want to know from others how it's like in other companies. Hive is so slow. Yellowbrick is fast but not all cornerstone data is there and is practically useless for my team's use case. MLS crashes so often. Ask Aida support is so sloppy and they just regurgitate the same information over and over again. Is this an Amex thing or is this just how big data works everywhere?

I’m looking to transition from an academic medical center to pharma or a biotech. I have about 8 years of clinical research experience overall — 7 years combined as a CRC (CRC I, CRC II, and senior CRC) and 1 year as a PM. I’m also recently ACRP-CP certified.

I’ve worked with many different industry-sponsors and CROs throughout the years, but many jobs I am applying to require experience at a biotech/CRO/pharma company. Would really appreciate any advice or referrals. Thanks in advance!
