Isn't this an unfair comparison - shouldn't the comparison be b/w dad boss and mommy boss? Or are we assuming all women are power driven? Also, what about power driven males - you know, brother boss, husband boss, guy-you'd-like-to-jump-but-can't-because-he's-the-boss boss ...
Male here btw.
Strongly prefer dad boss
I only work on top, never under
Guy here - came to praise mom bosses, I've worked under the whole matrix and they are certainly some of the best. Big brother bosses are also great but even more rare than elusive mom boss
Mom bosses are... Just so rare. I worked under one at BAML. She was awesome.
Dad boss - definitely! In my experience there's no sisterhood when it comes to careers - power driven female bosses are not good. I'd like to try a mom boss though. I can imagine that's powerful.

Dad boss
Haha, love the description here. Dad boss all the way
Woman. I've excelled working under women as they become my mentors. They have higher expectations of you.
I prefer a man with a fist that can make you mist 😏
Dad boss
For the males: what defines a dad-boss and why is it preferred? Is there another more-preferred category you've experienced?
I prefer the uncle boss
Dudes are easier to work for but worse to show / make way for you becoming a boss
Fully agree with the guy above me. With male vps/directors i often have to break the chain of command and be aggressive about taking on more responsibility. The two women seniors I've worked with were way more cool about it
Haven't worked for a lady boss, but would like to. I used to work for a dad boss, and while he praised my work I always got the "I just want to call your parents and tell them how proud they should be of you" because his daughter was close to my age when I was an analyst. It was a little odd. Now I work for a "bro boss" who treats me more like a peer / friend and respects my opinion. That's what I prefer.
Dad boss
Dad boss of course😜
Agree with @MS4 I've worked with more of a mom boss type and they're wonderful. Regardless of gender when they show they kind of care sometimes I think that's the best scenario
