In what industry are not the most politically engaged celebrated? Unfortunately, the world's recognition is not to those who excel at their jobs, but those who excel at showcasing their role - if not completely pretending they're good at what they do over being good at what they do, for some.

Just remember why a trade publication exists. These awards are pitched through PR or corp communications. While these people are doing great things so are many others but we don't know about them. Do you have a PR person pitching Adweek on your behalf? If not, pitch your internal crew as to why you or your neighbor should be featured next.

Our most talented and creative are busy actually making things. These lists are just paid placements that mean nothing. I get why it's annoying but it's also easy to hack for your own purposes if you really want like (mediavest 1 said).

As somebody who makes similar stuff to this, you showcase those that reach out to you. How am I supposed to dig through the internet to find the absolute best people that also meet my criteria of location/age /whatever? The "top people" are really just the top people that made themselves known, and that's not a bad thing. You want something you gotta ask for it.

My work is highly focused on inclusion and today, while driving through the park, I felt bad for laughing at a group of larpers. They have nerf combat gear, too. I tried hard not to be insensitive to them being their true selves but i laughed … hard! And now I feel bad for laughing at them.

It blew my mind to learn about compulsory heterosexuality and gender performativity. It’s weird because even years later of being aware of these concepts, I find myself having to unlearn things that were buried deep inside me without even realizing. It’s hard but it’s worth it.

Current and previous agency are fighting gender equality issues with gender inequality. Example - allocating 75% of leadership training places based on gender, merit is a secondary factor. Thoughts?

So I typically don’t answer the EEO questions at the end of applications that ask for race and gender. Lately I’ve noticed companies following up via email for this information after I submit the application. Am I the only one who does this? Does it even matter? Any thoughts on the follow up emails asking for the information after the application has already been submitted?

Women in creative leadership at my agency pride themselves on being “just one of the guys” & won’t acknowledge gender bias or promote from within unless it’s young talent they don’t consider a threat.

My tech client wants a “Think Different” type of manifesto ad that will run for a year and magically increase their diversity hires while publicly making them look like (cont’d)

A WM was just named DEI lead for our department. He keeps talking and writing messages in ways which prioritize the aggressor’s feelings, the aggressor’s safety, and “positive intent.” He also talks and writes about “How to not jump from kindergarten to college in one conversation when it involves DEI.” He never talks or writes about inclusion or making things safe for BIPOC. Last year, My girlfriend was making 80k while I was making 200k so I took her out to dinners and took care of the groceries etc. Basically made sure it’s an equitable relationship. She got a new job this year and is now making 210k (more than me) but still expects me to pay for all the dinners and groceries. I’ve already talked to her about this but just resulted in argument. Is there any coming back from this situation to make this equitable relationship or is break up the only option here?
