Is it weird that I’m the only one at our office that enjoys suspenders? I always get compliments, and can’t seem to figure out how it’s not a thing...

I filed an ethics complaint in early June, and after going up the chain and calling out nothing was done on it, and I was being gaslighted/my personal life being used to show I am the problem in early October, I met with the execs in Ethics. The initial meeting, they gaslighted me, and then tone was better in the second meeting. Now 2-3 weeks later, General Counsel wants to see me. What should I do? Should I be worried? I have sought counsel outside of the company. This is huge fintech company.

So embarrassed. I literally had one job to do today which was to schedule a client and give and take her paperwork when she came in. Totally called her by the wrong name today AND gave her the wrong paperwork. She was really nice about it but I feel like my boss was disappointed and I'm disappointed in myself. I don't want her to think I won't be able to keep clients straight when I start doing supervised sessions.

Ive been working for a small DOD company for 6 months now. I like the people I work with and I enjoy my boss. However the Dept head that my boss reports to is very dissociative of us. He doesn't speak to us on the regular if we have a problem, he tends to grimace at us if were face to face. Problems may be (dr appts, having to leave early due to child care etc.) I didnt want to report him to HR out of fear of retaliation due to him being here for more then 10 years. what do you'll think?

I’m have a new theory about why juniors always feel like idiots and wanted to see if anyone else thinks this makes sense. I’m a third year, and am the most junior person all of my teams (generally me, a senior or two, and a partner or two), and I always feel like I’m messing something up. Is this just because I never get to work with other juniors and don’t see the mistakes they make, and that it’s relatively normal? Third year new to BL on the east coast. On a deal with another mid and two juniors, all of whom are on Pacific Time. Junior I am working with was working on comments sent by partner (also on PT) and sending directly. I didn’t see any emails from the other mid and junior, stayed up until midnight, but wasn’t sure what my role was there. Was this clear cut and did I miss it? FWIW I’ve worked through the night previously for deals so this isn’t new to me; just wasn’t sure of my role on this team.

After 12 rounds of me vs my adhd - its still a LOVE/HATE relationship. I conclude I’m in the wrong career as a result. I love being smart, excelling, having random super human skills. My coworker that I am assigned multiple projects to work with does work worse than a low performing analyst. She has 20+ years of experience in this work and cannot even keep track of action items even though I write notes and list action items after our meetings. I wanna pull my hair out.

How do you come out of your childhood trauma? I am turning 30. I had an alcoholic & abusive father (to my mother). He was very quiet and loving but when drunk he turned into a completely different person. I saw him coming home drunk daily, abuse my mother and I never really had a normal childhood. I am being told I cannot clear a right to work check until my BRP arrives. And because of this I will need to have my start date pushed by two weeks (start date is mid Jan right now, visa approved yesterday and they need the documents by end of week).

Does this make sense? I'm trying to argue my case as I don't like the idea of losing two weeks, and I am approved. I cannot control the post delivery times...

HYPOTHETICAL: Your divorce client found what is likely very illegal drugs in their spouse’s suitcase (they innocently borrowed the suitcase). There’s no legitimate chain of custody here for an arrest. How would you use this in the custody case? Would you simply have police pick it up from your office and fill out a report (knowing they won’t test the substance for a definitive conclusion)?
