I've worked at the same engineering firm for 4 years. I'm currently making $161k with only a $750 bonus, but excellent vacation (4 weeks, cash out anytime, rolls over indefinitely), 45 hours a week. I have an interview with a recruiter at Guidehouse this week for a Technical Project Manager role. It seems to be focused in the government space and requires a security clearance. What sort of salary and benefits could I expect for this sort of role at Guidehouse?

^ didn't take too long to get one of those.
Wear colors as blouses and scarves that are bright. Flats are fine. Buy high quality brands that are classic and beautiful.
Shoes help. I like to be comfortable too. I've collected a kick ass collection of flats over the years, and Iove my shoes. If you can, get your clothing altered. It makes a HUGE difference when clothing fits you perfectly.
Loft pants are very comfortable and they usually have a 40/50% discount!
I have tried both. Most clothes didn't fit me right and I found them to be rather expensive for the quality.
Also suggest leather wedges as a compromise between flats and heels.
Invest in a few dresses that fit well. Accessories and manicure. I get a blow dry every Sunday night which lasts till Wednesday. I think the most important things for me are - planning over the weekend and just adapting myself to the client/team dress code.
Pair fitted cropped trousers with flowy silk blouses. Should cover your problem areas and look tailored. Vince has both and is amazing quality (can purchase as Nordstrom Rack). Will look for some pics...
Do not wear jeans under any circumstances
Wear loft slim fit pants and a long shirt. Is start away from dresses or skirts. They are too risky as they can be too short, slit in the wrong place etc
Bright flows tops and accessories go a long way to dress up any boring outfit. Anything from light scarves to matching bracelets and necklaces can add a great pop of color. Also a subdued and classic hue of lipstick works for me. Otherwise, Marshall's and tjmaxx have great options for business attire for a fraction of the cost.
Hmm. I would actually recommend staying away from bright colors if you are looking to dress smart/curate a timeless wardrobe. Neutrals are more classic/polished and tend to make it easier to pack anyway. if you are focused more on "drab" bright colors will help...
I'm very much into banana republic pants! They have a good amount of support but also some stretch! For tops I tend to do tj maxx, jcrew, banana, loft etc
These outfits would all work with flats (the outfits with jeans could easily be swapped with cropped trousers) https://s-media-cache-ak0.pinimg.com/originals/80/d3/ea/80d3ea402519363a06793a6ba26a7f49.png

Wear nice flats and stop wearing them when they become worn out, scratched, smelly, or dirty. Keep yourself polished- light make up, hair, nails
I agree with BCG1 in terms of neutrals. My go to is usually neutral suits, blazers, pants, etc but having some bright tops and accessories to pair them with for the days you want a more "cheerful" outfit. Royal blue is also a great option for a color that's classy yet more fun.
I've suggested on other threads - leota dresses (Nordstrom) are very forgiving. And second anything Vince Camuto. I've stopped shopping at Loft, Banana due to quality inconsistency.
Honestly suggest losing the weight. You'll make your clothes look 1000x better!
*Comfortable clothing and shoes. Preferably flats. Can anyone post links or pictures?
