I don't have painful periods or uncontrollable emotional mood swings but that doesn't mean i can dismiss what someone else goes through. I have seem friends faint and suffer in different ways. Each human body is different and yet we come together to follow standard routines for everyone due to the society we live in today. I think we should be more empathetic. If we cannot do anything to help, the least is to not say anything!i agree people do become stronger in dire circumstances but then again you aren't to judge what's 'dire' for anyone.
Glad to read BCG2 response.
For many years my period didn't affect me too much - and I wondered why women didn't work harder to control it. (Though I still wasn't a jerk to them...) as I get older I find that it gets much worse and much harder to control or even know when the emotions will come in (for me I don't get sad, I get annoyed too easily). Only thing I can do is try to track it so for the 5 days before when my period miiiight come, I try to monitor everything about myself and my attitude, (i.e. take note if I feel annoyed and ask myself if it's appropriate for me to be and if I handled it right). And I apologize immediately if I'm ever snarky. Its a lot of work to monitor yourself constantly and I'm not perfect at it, but it helps
K1 - Didnt know guys squirted out blood 5 days a month from their dicks
K2 so when someone is reaching out for help you shut them down and tell them to suck it up? I apologize for assuming you weren't a woman, but am even more disappointed now in your reaction...
@K2 - ew. You are so vile. I'm a refugee from a third world. Most of us didn't have enough food to have period. So there's that. Stop using minorities to beat down other minorities. This isn't the suffering olympics. Stop being so horrible to your own gender. You think it makes you strong? No, it makes you weaker because you capitulate to the majority at the expense of the minority that you belong to.
As a functioning woman with a functioning uterus, I have. I just don't let it control my mood because I'm not a Disney princess. I have PCOS too so they're extra heavy and extra painful, so thank you very much for assuming I don't know what I'm talking about. People say women can't be in a position of power because they can't control their emotions. STOP GIVING THEM FODDER.
Chocolate. Yoga. Running. Ambien. - roughly in that order.
K2 - you've obviously never had an internal organ shed its lining and expel itself from you once a month
Why asking only lady 🐟?
Wow, K2, you should use some of that will power of yours to soften your words. Maybe the hormones just swing your moods in the opposite direction - to bitchiest bitch. 🙅🏻
@K2 - Just because you decided to swallow and internalize the misogyny and become a self-loathing woman doesn't mean it's in our best interest as women to pretend to be men. STOP SHUTTING DOWN MINORITIES AND TELLING THEM TO SUCK IT UP.
Sex change. Worked for me! 💁♂️
K2 good for you that you can control it, but for me, puppies and babies are enough to make me cry when I have PMS. It's not about will power and sucking it up.
I m sure K2 is the expert here on how women who walk miles to get water for families deal with their periods ..being a true bullshitting consultant 👏👏👏
As a male manager/husband/dad, go find a spot (away from clients) and have a good hard cry with a friend. Can be me if you need. Don't squash. Let's get it, move on, repeat as necessary.
@k2 ⬆️👹👹👹👹👹
BTW- that meditation recommendation goes for you too, K2.
No one should have to suffer through this. OP, my mothers advice was always to just be a little kinder to yourself- maybe workouts could be a little lighter, try to sleep a little longer. Can you re-prioritize your daily tasks to make sure big essential items get done, but smaller, bonus tasks are done later? I saw something on Pinterest once that had a chart of how to make the best of the changing levels of hormones each month
OP, I've noticed in the moment during the day - when I'm really pissed or overwhelmed about something & while I have my period, I am much more inclined to tear up. I hate it too but I literally find it super hard to control when my emotions are on a x100 multiplier that week. :( If I can walk out of the room, I will. If not, I keep water with me and suck it like crazy to give myself something else to think about and physically do. I also dig my fingernails into the palm of my hand to distract myself from my current thoughts.
Why you gotta be like that K2?
