In which hikes are given in Accenture??
Hi Fishes,
Please help me with below queries :-
Hi Fishies! (Is that what we are? I’m going with it)
I just came across a Google Research and Insights role that got me SUPER excited and I was about to apply when I had the idea of seeing if anyone would be willing to give me a referral. I understand (and respect) that most of you Googlers on here feel that a referral is only useful if you know the person but I would be happy to jump on the phone to give you some info about me. It would mean so much! 4 YOE at a major audio steaming service

McKinsey & Company Has Mckinsey met BA headcount quota for the year/did they freeze hiring? I interviewed and got to last round last year, and applied again with a referral two months ago but haven’t heard anything from recruiting. Last year I heard back within 1 month of referral drop. I would’ve thought with my 1 more year of experience I should be able to get an interview easily.🥲 McKinsey & Company

Take it and keep looking
I made that comment based on a conservative approach. It might take a take a month or a year to find the right job with the right numbers - Meanwhile bills need to be paid and hence the take the offer and keep looking. Companies can get rid off you as soon as they hire you too. There is nothing that stops them from doing this to you.

I would recommend accepting the offer. Market is uncertain.
OP, the tribe has spoken.
Congrats - getting a new job in this environment is hard. Doesn’t have to be forever, but nice to have as we head into the holiday season and a cold dark winter.
Thanks, lots of folks in worse situations than myself. Definitely humbled to be where I am.
Why not take it and continue your search?

No. It doesn’t. Comp adjustment didn’t materialize. Boom.
Market has spoken. You were clearly getting overpaid. I’d take it and keep looking for better opportunity but wouldn’t count on getting anything more unless you have any specialized skills.
Nah D2. I think the company has spoken not the market. Market pricing involves several different agents and brokers. This is just one.
Hiring is still happening. It just takes more effort and proactive reaching out and is dependent on how your target industry is doing. I've had a few job offers a couple months back. Now as we get to the end of the year, hiring will probably slow down.
Ask for a higher offer, if you have an MBA or a master. Take the offer and keep looking. They low-balled you knowing this is a buyer market. Also note that corp. often does not pay as much for a comparable role . Some companies are not thinking long term and doing themselves a favor by paying less . . . they will loss the talent as soon as the market recovers.
Take it, keep looking - no need to overthink this as it may take 6 weeks or 6 months+ to find another opportunity in this environment
God damn Accenture 😡
I'd approach this from a different lens. Ask the recruiter, jow long will it take you to get back to your target comp level. If they can't give you a good answer then I would probably decline, as it speaks to them trying to low ball you.
A few other things seem suspect to me. You said they have a lot of other top 10 MBAs? Are they making only around 135k? I find that suspect. Or are they at higher level positions?
I just went through this process after being laid off earlier this year and declined an offer. Happy to report that a different opportunity made me an offer at a 20% raise a few weeks later.

Seconded!
Take it. Consulting salary are higher but you put in more hours usually. How does variable comp look?
Variable comp is 15%, lower than manager at my old firm

Consider it a stepping stone.

I took a job as a Corp strat Manager after 3.5 yrs in consulting after UG. Manager titles really don’t mean much at large cos. I would try to negotiate for higher pay for sure, but if not, it’s really up to you and your priorities. Personally I’d keep lookin
As a consulting manager I make 119k... it sound like maybe you were just paid at higher end at Deloitte too so don’t overthink your value at market rate. And yes I know I may be low but still.
I don't think he was over paid. New hire MBAs from target schools into consulting at D get offers at 160k.
I left Deloitte as a M2 and made that as well.
2 steps forward 1 step back. Title is better and you like the work. The comp will come back

You got bills or nah?
Consulting sucks all the time out of ur day. Are you going to spend just as much time there working...... is this a stable company with room to grow.... after a few years there are better opportunities with higher pay and other benefits......
I have been laid off , Consultant, ..was at 130 K....looking and would be happy to take less or comparable salary if i have a better personal life....
also depends whereur job is located at. .
Take it. If you don’t like it, find a better opportunity and leave but you’ll be far less desperate
Does the role excite and motivate you? Is it in an industry you want to be in long-term? Do you see this role leading you to where you want to be in 5-10 years?
The comp is definitely reasonable. I would happily take a 15-20% pay cut for more reasonable hours and a role I am passionate about.
Is this for a company in Dallas?
D2, are you thinking about a toilet paper company in dallas?
