Landed my first decent paying job at 28, saving approximately $5k a month. Suggestions for where to invest that to maximise returns but not have it tied up for too long (as I want to ideally pull it out to invest in a property in about 12-16 months once interest rates calm down)? Considering DCA into US ETFs and putting some into non-US sovereign bonds. Open to suggestions and thoughts please.

If you want to buy a property in 12 -16 months I would not invest in the stock market. I would keep it safe. I bonds, t bills or CDs

Don't invest money you need in 12-16 months.

Seek out HYSA bonuses and other safe choices like ibonds, tbills, and CDs.

Non US employee so don’t have a 401(k)/Roth.

Can’t but I bones as non- US based. Will have to check up on t bills although those should be possible. Any particular reason you’re advising against the stock market even though it has dropped so much?

Because it can drop a lot more. Depends on how confident you want to be that the money will be there in a year

I'm an experienced Generalist/HRBP for an extremely high volume/large org. I have a masters in HROD and SHRM-CP. I’ve seen a couple posts lately with comments saying that people should not use a Roth 401k. Does the logic below capture the spirit of that concept?
1. Use trad. 401k to reduce taxable income now. Convert to trad. IRA once retired, then convert gradually to Roth IRA (ladder, SEPP, etc.) at lowest marginal tax rate
2. Use Roth IRA (and/or backdoor Roth) to take advantage of tax free growth and ability to withdraw principal early without penalty
