Hey! I'm just about to start doing some freelance work for a NYC based boutique design studio, and I need to give a hiring manager my hourly rate to give his customers. I am new to UI/UX design. I have experience in graphic design, but I just completed a certificate in UI/UX design so other than school projects I don't have an extensive amount of experience. What would you suggest I should charge? I am more interested in gaining experience than needing the money, but want to be payed reasonably.

I just recently signed up to take the PE exam in 4 months in my specialty (civil: water resources and environmental). Now I am seriously looking at switching to software engineering in the next year or two. Would it still be worth it to complete the PE? Would it help me get a career in software engineering?

Hi Team,

I joined Mindtree on 8th Feb and not got project and I was waiting for last 2 and half month. So, i gave interview outside (tech mahindra) and got selected. Almost 30-35% they said they will give and i am negotiating on it.

My main concern was shift and i have some health issues and unable to continue in night shift in Mindtree and tech mahindra its purely EMEA shift and per project team update.

Shall i switch to tech Mahindra?

Does it reflect poorly on you to the hiring manager if you take time off to do the final round interview? I told my interviewer that I was on PTO that day and she seemed surprised and thought it was unnecessary. But it was not possible if My boss can pull me into a client meeting anytime

After reaching out to someone for a potential recommendation letter, I realized that that person is not the best person to write my recommendation since they may not give the best example as I thought they would. How should I politely tell them that I don’t want to proceed?
