Do you guys ask for a signing bonus when starting a new job? I think it fair to ask since you’re probably joining mid year and therefore any bonus at the new company would likely be prorated. Aren’t you leaving money on the table if you don’t ask? Thoughts?

Need some advice: I had my review last week, and created an action plan. And today my boss told me Im being taken off the teams without any prior notice. I’ve spoken to HR, and they are useless.

I joined a corporate firm as a multi year experienced paralegal. It seems however that I am not necessarily welcome by other paralegals in the Dept., a few negative comments to partners about me. Obtaining assignments feels much like a popularity contest. Any advice on overcoming the negative vibes? My fear is that there is a negative reflection about me and the managing partner doesn't seem open to me, even though I haven't had the opportunity to work for him or the others yet.
