Last night when my wife got home from work, I reminded her to say hello to the dog and she said “I’m so glad we don’t have kids” haha

Hi everyone!

After years of hard work, I just got my first position in a leadership role! Yay! I’ll be leading a team of 12.
I wanted to know if you had any tips for me, things you wish you knew before, or things previous leaders did for/to you that you found admirable or stayed with you. I want to make sure I’m there for them and want to be a leader they will remember positively.

Thank you so much!!

Hello Everyone,
Could you please help me to give reference for my job change. I have 3.5 year's of experience in SAP Security with HCL Technologies. Notice period is 90 days.

What’s the best career advice you’re ever given?

Divorce or not? Loveless marriage, but love our 2 children and enjoying being close to them. Seeing my brother struggle with joint custody and think this is not for me. Too lazy/busy to rock the boat.

I am project manager in clinical research industry (CRO). After earning PhD, I gave up my science dream to take a more stable job. After slowly climbing the ladders, I feel like I finally got a seat at the table. Half the days I like the hustle, but now I miss being creative. I want to take more brainstorming, decision making responsibilities but I don’t see that in the career path for PM. Career path usually goes like this- Sr PM, Director l, Sr Director, and so on. But all do same work.

What are your thoughts about having to take an iq/personality assessment tests? It seems so outdated to me. I don’t think it predicts how you will truly perform at a job. I took a test like this for a startup once and they were concerned about my ability to speak up or behave in social settings. This was completely false. I present, interview clients, demo products, and facilitate meetings for a living. So what if I go home and shut down after work? I’m exhausted from speaking all day!

My friends are all having kids or on the path to having kids. I find myself not wanting to be around them anymore. It's weird and they've become weird.

I’m consciously trying to unlearn the habit of saying “congratulations” when someone says they’re having a baby. It’s not an accomplishment!😂 Plus, I want to counter the assumption that having children is always “good.” It’s hard to find other things to say, though!

I just ended a relationship over (in part) not wanting kids. This is the second relationship out of two in the past five years I’ve had end because of this issue. Are they all like this? Why does no one seem to believe me when I say I don’t want kids? Feeling very blue and hopeless.

Hi,

I am 31. Married for 12 years. I spoke to my doctor two days ago about sterilization. It was the first time a gynecologist didn't judge me for that. I know they're supposed to council because of the risk of regret, but sometimes they seem judgy. I am considering getting my tubes tied, but my husband isn't super on board because of the finality of it.

He is ok with not having kids, but seems to think I will change my mind.

Anyone taken this step without having had a y children?
