CPA Really??!
Had a great weekend linking up with fam, went wine tasting, fine dining and all. And I love it when my six year old says she wants to be a CPA when she grows up. But do I really want her to go the CPA route? My younger sister’s a doctor, brother in law’s an engineering manager at alphabet, both grossing 600K annual Bay Area combined both dumb as hell when it comes to business/finance. Sorry maybe just hating a little bit here. Am I wrong to suggest my kid to choose tech instead?

I haven’t involved my mom in wedding planning much because she stresses me out. But today, I took her to my dress alterations appointment and she left pissed because I didn’t let her take pictures. She said I wasn’t creating the sweet mother daughter experience she had hoped for but that’s just not me. I even bought the dress by myself in the first place. Hi ladies! Very transparent post!, today is rough! I try to gentle parent my 3 old son but he doesn’t listen! Only does when I have to raise my voice, take away something, or mean mug 😩😩
My daughter is the total opposite. She actually listens and is growing into an emotionally intelligent and stable kid.

How long does it take to get over ptsd from being in a toxic micromanaging environment?

I was a top biller and top manager at a large staffing company for five years and was treated like a child. The place was crazy. Six months into my new role I’m still scared to request PTO or afraid that my boss would be mad if she found that I took an afternoon break to walk my dog.

Moms, did having daycare at your gym help you to go more often? Did the environment help?

Hubby thinks that we can workout at home (peloton, weight bench, online classes, jogging stroller) or in our community gym & pool. But I'm excited to join a local sports club with lots of amenities (classes, squash, tennis, swim) and 2.5 hrs daycare / day.
I'm remote so getting out of the house occasionally would be nice, plus give baby some exposure. Baby will start full time 9-4 daycare soon though.

Are you keeping your kids home from school/daycare at any sniffle or cough? Our preschool policy this year is "any sign of illness". If my kid gets the sniffles, it's inevitably 7-10 days. With three kids this can drag on for weeks, and i am struggling.

A parent of one of my students told admin she thinks it's irresponsible that I won't be grading over Christmas break. I let the students know to get any work they need graded in before the break and I'll get it to it during our workdays in January. Apparently that's not fast enough for her 🙄. I did not go to law school because I was passionate about the law. I just wanted a better paycheck and didn’t know what else to do. I’m three years out and I really don’t care about the work I do, just that it makes me money. I see people in bowls talk about their dream jobs, and I can’t help but wonder, what’s it like to have a dream for your career?

I can’t forget about a guy I met 2 years ago and wanted to date him. We we friendly and had some chemistry, but I was afraid to break the friendship having only known him for like 1 month. Then Covid came, we started losing contact and he moved to the other side of the country. I have a pasta sauce that’s a bit of a cheat but it’s so good you could drink it. One jar Gia Russo Spicy Sicilian sauce, one large can of crushed Marzano tomatoes, pour in a good red Italian wine lime from Montepulciano and count to 2, then a good olive oil and count to 2. Let it simmer for 45 minutes covered. Nothing else. It’s frigging amazing.

At 25, my bf and I make $200K a year combined. It’s kind of absurd to me how even though that isn’t really that much money in the grand scheme of things, it really is enough to do whatever we want in life and so much more than so many people that work their asses off daily could dream of pulling in. We’re both in specialized areas, but it doesn’t feel like we work that much harder than a store manager or a teacher or a janitor. I guess our economy just doesn’t feel fair :(
