Hi everyone. A PDM specialist here. Joined Deloitte 5+ years back as ‘Senior Solution Engineer -On-site’.Later in June 2017 all these ‘on-site’ folks got rebranded as PDM. Slowly started to realize how PDM is getting sidelined as a ‘discountable’ group. Sometimes I feel contract jobs are better than being at PDM , but obviously tied up with D for visa related issues. No career progression so far and don’t see any positive changes in the near future as well.I think it’s high time to call it a day.

Bring a large cupcake with number candles. Mention that you thought it was a BYOC party, so you brought one only for yourself.
And like everyone else said go treat yourself with your best buds to some good food, a nice dessert, and a cider or whatever drink you prefer.

Heck, I’ll pay for a slice. Happy Birthday OP!! 🥂🍰
My parents also only celebrate my younger siblings birthday and have for years now 😅. I second these other comments. Get yourself what you want and don’t share 💁🏼♀️
No one has even remembered my birthday the last few years. You’re 100% spot on. Treat yourself cause no one else will. And if they do, great, you celebrate twice!

I think you should do the HBD to our fave child one! They may also be trying to mess with you and see how annoyed you get, like a surprise, js 😅
🥳 Happy Birthday!! 🍾🥳
I vote cupcake. 🧁 and watch the fireworks when they realize what happened. 😉😎🍿
While this does sound depressing, is this just the way that your family celebrates birthdays? Do you throw birthday parties for your parents? I'm betting that's probably not the case. You're an adult, I don't know that your parents are necessarily responsible for your birthday.
In my family, everyone contributes to family gatherings. There are so many of us, that we often have joint birthday celebrations as well. I don't love that, but we would be celebrating multiple times every month if we didn't combine them.
Btw, if you want a really tasty chocolate cake recipe, this one always gets rave reviews. It's easy because it can be made and served in a baking dish, which makes the frosting easy and uncomplicated. Definitely cool the cake for 45 minutes to an hour before frosting though. I also don't add the nuts.
And yes, there is cocoa powder all over this recipe. 🤣
Say you misunderstood them and thought your brothers would bring the cake.
