Hello Fishes is hiring on freeze in Accenture?. I had received invitation for applying and filled all the details on the portal. My profile had passed the screening and I was told they would be reaching out to schedule my interview. It has been almost 2 weeks now but I am yet to hear back. Accenture

If you are starting a law practice or are thinking of growing an existing one and you don’t have a lot of money to spend, you should get this book, “Starting and Growing a Law Practice without Breaking the Bank.” It offers practical tools to start, run and grow a firm using available and affordable resources.

Does anyone have experience with Ben Glass’s “Great Legal Marketing” programs? https://greatlegalmarketing.com
I ordered a free “starter kit” from his company and received a decent-sized box with some books and audio CD’s. Haven’t listened to the CD’s yet, but the books aren’t bad, with plenty of practical advice.
Now he’s running a promotion where you can get two months of his basic-level course for just $19.95 to cover the cost of shipping. It seems that Ben is one of the better-regarded legal marketing “gurus” out there.
I don’t know what state you are in, but in Massachusetts our bar offers free therapists that are former lawyers - they are incredibly familiar with the specific struggles of lawyers. It’s called LOMAP
I went through the same thing several years ago. I tried to line up a new non-legal career but I had to be willing to start at the bottomI. I took off for a week to relax and honestly assess my options. I decided to leave big law and open my own solo practice. Best decision I ever made. Im the boss and work on matters I enjoy and have the freedom to do small scale non legal work is an independent contractor and charity work.
Thank you!
I’ve definitely gone through that feeling. I believe many lawyers have sue to covid depression, court being by zoom, lawyers generally being less motivated and the “practice of law” being less fulfilling or glamorous in covid times. I stayed and have my own solo law firm. I have not yet looked at non lawyer jobs. Perhaps what may help you is performance coach or therapy for lawyers that focuses on goals, motivation, and answering questions about your future and desire to practice
What area(s) of law do you practice as a solo? I am getting a strong feeling like I want to leave criminal law behind but not law altogether.
I talked to a couple friends every day about what we would do if we didn't have to be lawyers. And frankly I have no idea. All my other skills aren't really transferable to the civilized world. And then there is the money factor. I am not in big law but I am in an area of the US where the average income is 45k and I made 170 last year. So...there's really not a comparable option.
Rock and a hard place. I don't want to be a lawyer. I made a post in a different thread about how the memes are all too true to real life re depression, alcoholism etc. The defense attorneys are miserable to deal with. But, it is what it is and I have no idea what the other options are.
Wish I could tell you how to get past it, but that’s where I’m at too - tired and disinterested in my PI/med-mal practice, and not at all enthused about a lifetime of this work. But truly nothing sounds interesting to me as far as alternatives, particularly considering the hit to my pay (which isn’t even enough to justify this miserable work) from going to a wholly different field, not to mention costs and delay of any additional schooling.
Disappearing to be a beach bum in a tropical paradise sounds more and more appealing every day.
I went through that feeling and was disappointed with what my take home was based on hours worked! I walked away and opened a legal resource brokerage instead and it has worked out really, really well for me.
What is a legal resource brokerage?
I think best option is to remain a lawyer but raise your standards on the kind of people you deal with (employer, client type). For example, I left an industry because values didn’t align
