Lately I've struggled SO much with balancing taking care of myself and work. Seems like I can either get a bunch of stuff done and have a productive workday OR eat, get exercise and talk to other people during the day. Yesterday I didn't eat a single thing and just went to bed after work. It's miserable. How can I find a balance?

Following because I'm having the same issue. It's not that my brain doesn't like the food I'm making, it just doesn't prioritize hunger/hygiene/happiness if I have any work to do.

Let me know if you find out, been struggling with this for years. Balance between work and home life is something I've never really mastered.

When I tell you I feel this in my soul. It really is so hard to achieve balance. But you have to figure out what that looks like for you and then go from there. For me working out just doens't fit in. And thats okay because I do alot of walking at my job and I go for walks in the evening. So I just took that off my list and I felt more balanced not having to try and squeeze that in every single day

When I tell you that I feel this in my soul. i cannot tell you how many times I have gotten to the end of the day and realized I haven't eaten a single meal. Its like I just forget to eat b3cause the adderall makes me feel full all day.

Additional Posts in ADHD Professionals

Whew this group is a relief to find. No one at my job knows I have ADHD, and I only have one other friend with it. I manage a team of people and the stress of checking, double checking, and triple-checking everything to make sure I'm not forgetting anything or behind on anything is insane. I've kind of got the hang of keeping focus during work hours, but I'm just constantly on edge that someone will notice or I'll start falling behind.

Hi! I’m a young professional with less than 2 years experience, started a new job 1.5 months ago. I’m having quite some difficulties on balancing out my response time to tasks. While I act incredibly fast if not immediately with some, I sometimes take 1-2 weeks with couple of hours worthy ones. Sometimes I ignore, procrastinate or simply other more urgent things come up to increase the delay. Also I work with 3 managers in my team which doesn’t help with expectations nor guidance. Any tips pls?

For those who were diagnosed as an adult can you provide some insight into how you were able to obtain a diagnosis. I went to my primary care dr who referred me to another dr who specialized in mental health. He asked me about 5 questions before telling me I should see a neuropsychologist for an official assessment. The referral he gave me is super pricey and apparently isn’t covered by insurance. Is that normal?

Can anyone relate? If I’m stressed out, I can’t focus on my tasks because my productivity is driven by creative and explorative thought. When I’m stressed or anxious, my mind doesn’t have the room or space to think freely to get things done, and I end up bouncing around different tasks not getting anything done. And then there’s the whole dopamine addiction issue with doing a small amount of work then hopping on social media because you feel like you need the reward. Just me?

Has anyone else tried Strattera, had success, and a few months later felt like work was a struggle again? Am I imagining it? There are reasons why I should not take stimulants, but I miss that feeling of being a “regular” person at work and so am curious if others have had a similar journey and where you all ended up
