My client objects strongly to the tone of your correspondence. In case the amount in dispute has not been paid within two weeks, my client will take legal action to establish your payment obligation.

Why don’t you stop pointing you finger at everyone else? It’s a good tactic for the courtroom, but it doesn’t hold up in real life. Why don’t you point the finger at yourself? Not to mention the cut of your jacket.

I am soo peeved right now. My in laws keep asking us to visit/ to visit us so they can see and spend more time their first and only grandson (6mo). I don't have a problem with that. We make every effort we can to do it and then they barely spend time with him! Over a 3 day weekend, they spent maybe an hr total with him. They run a business from home so really busy but come on, you hound us for months to see him, he's here and you don't make the time to hang with him.

Lately I have been having trouble focusing, starting just recently in the last few months. I have tasks that I need to get done but I find I'll do anything (like writing this post, scrolling on FB, ect.) to avoid doing it.
My firm offers free therapy sessions that I'm considering using, but it just seems like such a big thing and I can't make myself sign-up even though I think it would be great for me. Any tips on focusing during the week and/or what got you to go to therapy? TIA

My dog is about 6 months old and she’s been potty trained quite well. She spends most of her time outside in the yard bc she’s not allowed in the house, but she’s been inside the past few days recovering from getting spayed. She was roaming around the house unsupervised while I was in the bathroom, and she ended up pooping in my bedroom. I don’t think there was a stressor in my room.
Is there a reason this happened?

Anyone have any recs on how to handle 401-k and Roth IRA contributions? my firm matches 1.5% (i know… it sucks). No major expenses like rent, but go out in nyc every weekend, 170k salary. I’ve just heard 10-20% is best practice (currently doing 11% 401-k and 5% roth)

Is it normal for a prospective employer to request an employment verification letter from a previous job back in 2015. They are wanting to verify the roles that I held at that company. I already provided them the W-2s. I reached out to the previous employer but haven’t heard back from them and I feel a little awkward pushing them to write me a letter. I also asked the prospective employer HR manager if I can speak to her over the phone and she replied that all correspondence must be over email.

I'm lateraling to another firm and they are asking for a list of clients that I've worked with since starting. Maybe I'm missing something, but is there any easy way to figure that out? Do people typically just go through their past time entries? I know this is a standard request when lateraling, so I feel like there needs to be an easy way to determine which clients I've worked with. Any insight is much appreciated!!

In my last week of work I made a mistake in an immigration pro bono case. Long story short, in order to remedy it, whoever takes the case over may have no choice but to argue ineffective assistance of counsel and make a bar complaint against me. Nothing else will come of it (no malpractice suit/no follow-up by the bar/etc). Do I have to tell my new firm?
