I am soo peeved right now. My in laws keep asking us to visit/ to visit us so they can see and spend more time their first and only grandson (6mo). I don't have a problem with that. We make every effort we can to do it and then they barely spend time with him! Over a 3 day weekend, they spent maybe an hr total with him. They run a business from home so really busy but come on, you hound us for months to see him, he's here and you don't make the time to hang with him.

My dog is about 6 months old and she’s been potty trained quite well. She spends most of her time outside in the yard bc she’s not allowed in the house, but she’s been inside the past few days recovering from getting spayed. Is it normal for a prospective employer to request an employment verification letter from a previous job back in 2015. They are wanting to verify the roles that I held at that company. I already provided them the W-2s. I reached out to the previous employer but haven’t heard back from them and I feel a little awkward pushing them to write me a letter. I also asked the prospective employer HR manager if I can speak to her over the phone and she replied that all correspondence must be over email.

I know I’m in the minority here, but does anyone else absolutely hate remote work? My firm was going to require 3 days/week in person starting in March, but now it’s pushed back to April and I’m so frustrated. I feel like it’s just going to keep getting pushed back again and this is never going to end. I go to the office regularly, but an empty office isn’t much better than working alone in my apartment.

Time to admit that I hate billable hours because some days I just want to do a bare minimum four hours of work without having to make it up later and not for any high minded ideological reasons.

Odd question - but is it an unspoken rule not to use urinals in the office? I have never seen another person in my office use one and wondering if I’m missing something.

Do people typically just go through their past time entries? In my last week of work I made a mistake in an immigration pro bono case. Long story short, in order to remedy it, whoever takes the case over may have no choice but to argue ineffective assistance of counsel and make a bar complaint against me. Nothing else will come of it (no malpractice suit/no follow-up by the bar/etc). Do I have to tell my new firm?
