KPMG I cleared all the rounds of my interview with KPMG and was asked to provide necessary documents and fill a CAF form a week back and had a HR discussion too. I have requested for about 3Lakhs additional fixed pay since my current CTC has increased and HR said she will get back on this. It's been a week and haven't heard back on the offer letter. How long do you think I should wait. Please wait.

That sounds incredibly rude. I work in local government and my fellow attorneys are highly qualified and hiring is competitive. I also wouldn’t work somewhere that asked that.
Yes, that’s exactly why I picked local government too! I went to a T14 law school, as did many of my colleagues, and there were 127 applicants for the position I was hired for, so who can say that’s not selective!

Whoa what a rude question. Surely a lawyer that wouldn’t be insufferable to work for is capable of assessing this in ways other than asking bluntly rude questions.
Well, I wouldn’t cut my nose off to spite my face bc of an interview question. I’d just pivot and say you did it for philosophical reasons and glad you did it and are ready to move on. People have all sorts of biases that really don’t affect your career but make you want to punch them lol
It’s kind of like that Maya Angelou quote “When people show you who you are, believe them the first time.” I don’t know why you’d go into any life situation believing people will suddenly act differently then they’ve been acting. When I interview attorney candidates, I know I’m in a sense being interviewed too. I try to sell them on the position while at the same time being honest about it so there’s no miscommunication about expectation. If there’s a firm treating their interviews like some weird psychological test, that’s a red flag. If they’re sending their biggest asshole to do their interviews, that’s a red flag too.

I'm in the non profit/indigent direct services space, and I think its it's a fair question. My org has high standards, but many peer orgs don't. And I have classmates that are only in public service because they couldn't get what they wanted.
If that's not you, you should be able to articulate that. In theory, you're resume/ cover letter would make that clear too.
Even though I'm less able / not as highly achieved lawyer I still have to exist and find work please don't rub my face in it is my contention. If you really think I'm that incompetent please just don't interview me.
