I wish ACN’s senior leadership did a better job at communicating internally on such issues and not just externally on news channels etc.
Here are things to consider going forward:
1. Be honest and transparent to employees on which groups have been impacted so there is less anxiety. Human Capital is your biggest asset. If there are not enough smart people there will be no work thus no revenue.
2. Current severance given in COVID-19 times is below the norm. Learn and adopt from companies like AirBnb. Be the leader and set examples rather than otherwise.
3. TRULY help the employees that were let go to help them find jobs. They’ll be your advocate for the future which in turn will help with brand. This will also help in future hiring and retention. Right now, it’s going the other way around. Take action quickly.
4. Current system (Algos if true+ human review) of laying off is simply flawed. Someone with lower rating last year.. you ask them to make improvement which they’re working towards, demonstrating it and before the fiscal year ends, you lay them off. Why ask them to make these improvements if there were intentions to let them go? Rather give them a few weeks to search for jobs. This will help with brand building and retention.
D10 exactly! We have done serious brand damage. Analysts and consultants will go get a masters and tell their peers we are recruiting not to go to Deloitte. SC-SM will go client side and decide not to work with us. This is a huge miss.
Also want to point out we are laying off a ton of H1B people in the middle of a pandemic. Essentially getting them deported. This is a terrible look as well.
Nothing matters as long as your MD/ practice lead likes you and want you keep you. I seen many favariosms, with 5 year or less experience guys getting prompted to Sr managers and experience hired left out,just because they are buddies with Mds. I even seen creating new non chargeable roles to save them. Welcome to real world.

We are mercenaries going to the highest bidder. I don’t fall for that together, for better crap. It’s only together until they have no use for you.
It’s incredible to me that we are still obligated to give 2 week notice when we want to leave, yet employers can just do this with no warning whatsoever.
Agree, seems unfair. Should have been two weeks given that we get payed every two weeks. Should be a full pay period for every year.

Just got the call. Fully chargeable thru Oct. Said it was a corp decision based on last year performance even if u are doing great now. No exceptions.
So my call was at 430pm Friday with my practice lead; not scheduled just a direct dial to my cell. It was to the point. Letting me go becuz of not progressing which in my book was an unfair assessment; chargeability was a factor while I was told by my MD to lead a number of big deal proposals; expected for SM. I did have a 88% recovery number but only 55% chargeable. So tranfered to Tech group in Oct; focused on delivery and at 80% chargeable now but they not considering that nor the fact I'm on contract now, only looked at past. My client still has no idea that I'll be gone next week and account leadership said they will communicate this. The MSA says no soliciting each others employees but my call with HR today say it won't apply after my termination. The MDs I spoke with and my cc had no idea until they were given names to call. I thought I set going into this year performance review but missed my chance to reset last year's rating. Not sure what level is making the call but it seems quite binary. Heard something about monthly cuts till they right size our staff to demand.
I know a Senior Manager who was notified today. He has been with Accenture for less than a year.
i think he meant sorry to hear of the low billable hours.
They can’t call it a lay-off because then they would be restricted from rehiring for a year for a similar position. That’s why it’s “performance”.

The number of people that have confirmed the mass layoffs is just eerie! Truly sorry for this who had to face this at a time like this!!!
Do we have any actually confirmed numbers at this point? Beyond speculation?
