I’m a first year and I have so much anxiety re: layoffs or pay reductions. I don’t know if I can take another two months of sitting at home with all of this uncertainty.
Any idea on how Deloitte Cyber Risk is performing this year? Especially after the news of the hack? Seems like there could be layoffs if We don’t meet our any way ridiculously ambitious targets...
With all the layoffs and pending layoffs, anyone here still believe that your health insurance coverage should be attached to your job?
Does anyone have any books/media to recommend on being an Asian in the USA / UK (and particularly being East or Southeast Asian)? Have just finished Big Little Man (Alex Tizon) and Severance (Ling Ma) both of which were excellent and captured a lot of complex feelings I hadn’t been able to put into words before...
Hi everyone, I was recently laid off. I’ve always wanted to work in Consulting and was wondering if anyone had advice in how to transition from Enterprise Software to Consulting(BIG4) or other firms?
Folks who've been laid off before: how do you keep the anxiety from creeping in anytime you make even a small mistake at the new job? 🙁
What agencies are doing the best business wise right now? Hard to know who’s doing well versus who’s on the brink of the next merge. Do we know who had the least layoffs with covid?
I was recently laid off. Previously did brand strategy for CPG. Not much luck in finding another gig outside of pharma. Am I fucking up my career forever if I take a pharma job?
Curious if the S&A layoffs at Deloitte are reflective of an industry shift? How are MBB doing in terms of revenue, prestige and exit opps?
So we just laid off 30 people and no longer have a CFO...but as of this week there are like 10 newly-promoted VPs? Cool, makes sense. It's all downHill from here.
Has anyone hit this level of petty after getting laid off and rebounding on a rocket yet.
You guys think the job market will pick up in January or that the next wave of covid will cause more layoffs?
Why has work been slow the past 4-6 months and keep hearing about layoffs at PwC and Deloitte? The market hasn't even been terribly volatile during this time/ what else affects this?
For those in senior positions- how are you not constantly worried about the success of your work? There’s so many things that can affect P&L that are out of your control, how do you stay calm and not feel like you’re going to get fired as soon as growth slows?
I am in house at a software company in Boston. 2018 grad. When I initially started it was meant to be purely a legal role. After a few months of being there I became the DPO of the company after the company made layoffs bc of pandemic. Taking on this role easily adds 10 hrs more per week to my plate. Is it unreasonable to expect/ask for a significant raise for taking on the role? By significant, I mean at least $20k. Currently making $100k.
I just recently left big 4 in July to pursue a role at a fintech company. It seemed great during the interview but once I got here it was very unorganized, not clear which team I would support, etc. Long story short, I was told we would have a hybrid work schedule and we are now required to go in-office full time 5 days a week and there have been a ton of layoffs recently. Should I stick it out or look for something else even though I’ve only been here 2 months?
Has anyone been PIPed and fired by a manager that did not want to onboard them onto their team within the first 3 months? As a recent grad, how did you prevent it from derailing your career?
Big 4 “strategy” consulting be like
Trying to buy an apartment (condo) in Brooklyn and we’re striking out every time. Get that it’s competitive out here, but we’re now wondering whether this is partially because we’ve been using agents we connected via streeteasy to submit bids and they’re not as invested to advise on how we should structure our bids. Would appreciate any feedback on this!
Has anyone been part of Toastmasters? How was the experience? Have you found other effective ways to improve your speaking skills? In the Boston area btw!
Should I move from a High deductible plan to a PPO plan if I plan to have a baby next year?
