Anyone here with experience as a Product Manager? I’ve close to decade of consumer lending experience including Sales/Advisory, Supervisor and Underwriting. I have have been looking to pivot into a more impactful role this year. I am due for an interview for a Product Manager next week. The company ticks all my boxes but the job description a bit vague. I will be grateful if anybody willing to share what the day role looks like and what I need to look out for in an interview. Thanks. Cheers.

Suppose you are 3 months pregnant and interviewing for a job. Would you disclose to the recruiter that you are expecting or is there no need to give that information until after being hired? As for the compensation, if you’ve already been told pre-interview, the salary range for the role, is it appropriate to negotiate a number for the salary if you are asked your desired salary in the first screening interview? Or should you try to hold off on the negotiation after you receive an offer?

Is it worth pursuing a management position coming from being an engineer? What is your opinion on trying to go this route?

I have submitted my docs this Monday for a position post 3 rounds and a case study interview round.

Anyone have any idea when the hiring freeze might end within AWS ProServ? I’m currently at Amazon and have a TS clearance, PMP & CSM. I come from a Big4 consulting firm with a background in Enterprise Performance. I’ll be honest and say I’m not feeling very safe in my current role with the ongoing layoffs. Instead of leaving, I’d love to go back to my “consulting roots” and join the ProServ team. I’m taking my AWS Certified Cloud Practitioner exam next weekend. Hoping this freeze is lifted soon.

Most of the projects in my team are of Digital Transformation and give a Business Analyst role. I'm a functional person with knowledge in Finance and Banking domain.

Experienced hire Manager here, informed before Christmas that I’ll be taking another lap but not because of performance (5/5 on scats and all operating at next level) or metrics (22mm in MR) but the only reason is I need more time in the “saddle”… During this time, I’ve been replying to recruiters and after a PPMD interview last week, I was offered an SM role at a smaller firm with a base pay increase of 45% (225k) over my current salary. I received an offer for a role that is a lot more money than I thought but I still want to negotiate and see how much more money I can get. What can I say if the salary is already above average for the role in the market and city I live in?

A month ago I was given a promotion w/o a raise, and my new responsibilities were announced to the whole office. I’ve been persistent in following up to discuss salary and it’s always a song and dance about “benchmarking exercises”. The latest is that they “may” be able to offer 4-5% since it’s “a promotion but not a level change”… but no sense of timing commitment and frankly, less money than I know I’m worth. Really like the work but it’s crushing me. Any last ditch negotiation ideas?

Hey! I work in tech (4YOE) and I switched to consulting (will be joining in Sep). Background for the question: I have a bonus system with my current employer that consists of 6-12% of my base depending on performance (I always got the maximum 12%).

Question: do you think I can convince my current employer to pay me a prorated bonus since I will be leaving after working 7 months this year? They already told me (informally) that they do not do this. What arguments would you use?
