I’ve always avoided annuities but think this one from NY Life is interesting. It’s called a Variable Investment Fund and you can add an Investment Preservation Rider for a fee. The IPR guarantees your investment return will at least be the cash you put in.

Typical portfolio returns about 7.5% after all fees. The commission fee is 2%.

So you are attenuating some upside and paying a pretty hefty fee, but you are insuring agains the downside.

Great question! And without getting too much into monetary policy.... Fed rates are set by the Federal Reserve which banks use to charge each other to borrow money. A lot of times these rates move together, however, a Fed rate increase does not instantaneously change the rates the bank offers.

Other types of savings account have seen an increase this year such as online savings accounts and fixed annuities.

My weekly project review meetings with my team have ballooned from 30 minutes to 1.5 hours. Yesterday we ran 2 hours. I used to have 3 projects but now have 7. OneNote I've been updating has become gargantuan. Das klingt für mich ja eigentlich ganz gut, wenn man hier allerdings auf Fishbowl unterwegs ist, liest man von den Amis schon ganz andere Summen wie 150k TC; Wie lässt sich das denn vergleichen? Deren Savings-Rate muss doch extrem hoch sein?

I had a preliminary phone screening with a recruiter who asked my salary range. I tried to ask for their budget because i didn’t have the full position details, but they didn’t provide and asked again the range I was hoping for. I did end up responding, and secured an interview within the next couple of weeks. If all goes well will there be room for negotiations if I get an offer?
