Please talk me out of ordering the new ford bronco for 50k. Background: 26 y/o 2020 grad. After taxes, 401K, and HSA I take home ~6100/month. My current car is 13 years old and on its last leg(s). Current debt is 850/month for income based student loan repayments. I have 6 month emergency fund in savings and 20% of net income goes to brokerage account. Growing up lower middle class my only “I’ve made it” purchase is a bad A double S vehicle I actually want. I also get double steak at chipotle.
🐟s: I'm trying to decide which credit card to axe if I get approved for the CSR. Are there any real benefits of the American Airlines Advantage Citi Platinum Card? At $95/year,time to get rid of it?
Currently going through egg freezing at 36 and having a ton of regrets over not doing this earlier. I wish I had people in my life who were more honest and practical vs. Optimistic about having ‘plenty of time’ left and encouraged me to do this 4+ years ago. I’ve always known I’ve wanted kids I just haven’t met anyone yet. Here’s to hoping I only have to do 1 round because this shit is so expensive, even with my company’s benefits 🥺
Anyone else feel like we’re all getting a raw deal on healthcare? Switched to industry and one 30 minute doc appointment is $450 out of pocket.
Does anyone know what Discover's tuition reimbursement plan is? Do you have to work there for a certain length before being eligible or a contract for how long you must remain there afterwards?
Those of you that went off on your own to start a business, what did you do about health insurance? I’m single, 28, no dependents.
How are folks thinking about permanent life insurance? 45, making let’s say for example (not my exact numbers): $1M per year, not yet vested in pension. Was thinking need to replace the post tax take home, about $550k NPV’ed at 5% to age 55, so that’s like $3.2M. Maybe pension is worth $2.5M so I think that means I should have $5.7 total you want death to have no financial impact. Also was going to do $1M of that in perm w/ LTC rider. Sound right?
At PWC MC Health Industries, got an offer for KPMG MC Healthcare. Interested in finding out more about your division!

Received a verbal offer from a recruiter congratulating me on clearing the final round. However did not receive a written offer or what the TC package would look like. They have started the right to work checks and the investments / pension plan declaration. Is this normal? Should I send across any documents or wait for the written offer to come through (not even sure if the terms offered would be favourable!!)? Anyone faced a similar situation / have any advice on how to proceed? Thanks!
Been doing a lot more 401k biz and want to eventually do that alone. Want to complement the 401k with group DI/group life. Is it possible with smaller companies? What about group life? Any experience?

I was hired as a client service associate, and had to get the SIE and S7 certifications to secure my employment, been here for a year now and really want to be part of the business aspect. I’ve ended up being stuck at the front answering calls, cleaning up the conference room and babysitting the office while the FAs go on conferences and have big meetings. I really want to be part of it more and have a seat at the table. Any advice for how to take me career development into my own hands?

Has anyone had success negotiating a large medical bill with a hospital. I had an emergency room visit, resulting in a bill of which I owe $2k (after payments by insurance).
