Better sustainability and variety of projects with similar comp. Why not?
I wouldn't but what do i know about LEK
Commercial S&O, GM (although my current network is with M-D SM's) as direct hire consultant, going to a TX office.
Monitor-Deloitte, strategy service line.
Are up votes in favor of leaving? Keep 'Em coming. Thanks for the opinions!
OP, assuming you're joining into commercial S&O, going into general management or industry aligned as a direct hire consultant? And what office, if you care to share?
interesting. DHCs we get are technically GM but definitely staffed in certain industries. Lots of oil and gas/energy work probably in store for you in Texas, or at least industry specific. not sure what M-D meant.
Not sure if that makes a difference...
you should have more interesting work, hours tend to be on the longer side as a generalization of both strategy and monitor. not sure how things are like at LEK but with all else equal you'll live and die by your network here
Interesting. Thanks DC1. So I take it you like it? How strong is the media & entertainment practice in S&O?
I do like it, plan on sticking around til bschool given the constantly new challenges and learning opportunities. Media industry (of TMT) is strongest in NY, don't know anything about the rest of the country though
Thanks. I appreciate your input. I thought I would get more opinions from people?
chalk it up to a lot more non-commercial S&O folks in Deloitte consulting (and on this app)
Oh really? Most people on here are federal,HC, or Tech? So you originally said you wouldn't leave for Deloitte in your first comment, any particular reason? Btw I feel like an idiot using this to ask you questions. Can't believe this app doesn't have messaging yet.
That wasn't me, lol. can't say what most people on here are, but commercial s&o is less than 10% (ballpark) of all Deloitte consulting folks are under commercial s&o out of s&o (federal and commercial), tech (federal and commercial), and human capital (I assume federal/commercial too)
app needs an edit feature. It's a numbers game so consequently I expect this app to be a numbers game too - you won't find many monitor Deloitte users to help you out here
Gotcha. So do you have an opinion? Not sure if you know much about LEK. I had no idea commercial S&O was so small. I'm trying to avoid listening to Vault and WSO, bc I've heard the rankings and forums are weak.
I also feel commercial S&O being under 10% and getting lumped into the bigger Deloitte consulting devalues the actual brand of the people who work there. Might be a misguided interpretation though.
from what limited I know of LEK which is about as much as I know about ATK, both firms are smaller, shorter projects, relatively strategy heavy, fairly prestigious both in brand recognition and campus recruiting. I can't say why you felt compelled to leave but I also can't say whether your move was a good one without knowing what 1) made you leave LEK and 2)made you want to come to MD
I actually had both offers at the same time as an of cycle hire. LEK gave a written offer and Deloitte said they had to talk to leadership (after being told I passed partner case interviews) after I didn't hear back from Deloitte for about 2 weeks I took LEK then got a written offer from Deloitte for DHC (I have work experience) starting in February.
