When I did it years ago, they escorted me immediately to the elevator and paid me for 2 weeks. I partied so hard.
Just tell them, you’re not as important as you think.
If you got a good relationship with them then they already know before your it’s time for your two week notice, and if they don’t then you don’t have a relationship that you need to worry about. Just give it to them straight.

I was thinking of telling a few colleagues over IM, calls, etc. after telling the PPMD I’m out then sending an email to everyone!

You don’t need to tell them where you are going.
Pick up the phone, would not recommend teams message. Your PPMD is most likely going to call you anyways, rather tell them over the phone.

I don’t work in the big 4 but something I’ve learned is to not burn bridges and not tell anyone where I’m going to next. Just said you found a better opportunity and end it there.
