Deloitte question. I have always gotten a raise each year, the only question I ask is how much of a raise do I get. But I’m hearing from former Deloitte folks, it is naive to expect annual raises each year however small/big they are? And how does this play in Deloitte consulting vs advisory? Do one tend to withhold annual raises in base salary over the other, or is this just a deloitte culture thing? Looking at exit opportunities all over. So lmk! I’d Rather get a small raise than none at all.

EY only pays out what is accrued from Jan-Dec, so it's not based on our fiscal or vacation year
Live in New York, got paid out
You are paid accrued time for the current vacation year. That started October. Carryover into January is not paid out. There have been several posts on this. This is company specific as it relates to the various benefit years. (Vaca is Oct to Sept; sick time is Jan to December)
I guess the lesson is to use your carry over vac before quitting
Seems dodgy but may well be compliant with the employment law in your State/Country.

I've been told it's because the firm does carry over as a favor to those that work hard so that they can use the vacation. If you would have quit December 31st they would have had to pay you the accrued vacation. If you were California based they pay out accrued vacation at the end of every year no matter what.
In California they pay you everything in your balance doesn’t matter what year it was accrued from or rolled over, vacation hours are considered an earned wage, they can not be taken away, can’t believe other states don’t require that as well
Can you ask the HR if at least those carry over days be availed during notice period?
Agree with ey4. My response (and detailed knowledge) does not apply to California.
Literally lost 2 weeks of carryover, lesson learnt..
Op... how did you lose 2 weeks? You can only carry 40 hours?
