Left consulting to industry ~4 months ago. It was a tough adjustment in the beginning but I’m in a spot where I finally feel more comfortable. The hours are better than consulting (but not as good as my fed consulting experience) and people are helpful and super smart. My old company was bought by GDIT (federal contract) and my old team lead reached out to see if I was interested in coming back. I loved that team/client, and the hours were amazing (had 9/80 schedule too). But..continued below.

It would likely be a paycut. I left consulting for a 30% pay bump. I’m definitely at the point where I want a more relaxed work environment. But I don’t know if I should go backwards. Plus I don’t know much about GDIT and whether they’re a good company to work for.

My friend worked for them for about two years and they were stingy with the promo’s. He took over a $100M project, client loved him and they wouldn’t make him a director...so he left.

Hoping for candid advice to get exceptional ratings. I want to apply to GSAP in 2 years and am curious if anyone had concrete advice of getting exceptional ratings besides making sure to work hard and take on responsibility. I.e. did you talk to your manager and ask if you’d receive an exceptional rating? Do you need to talk to a partner about that? Do extra and consistent “market” initiatives for partners and SMs you do client work with help you get the exceptional for client?

Another question I have is , what kind of expectations would client demand from Sr. Associate L2 Infrastructure Devops AWS. Is there a corporate way to bring up to senior leaders that an IC is causing issues across multiple teams because they are demanding and also doesn’t collaborate well? Hi guys, I’ve recently joined TCS a couple of weeks back. I have 2 years of work experience in previous company (SAP consultant), but I couldn’t learn anything as my project team just used me for some data entry of project & I lost my skills. The TCS interview also didn’t ask any difficulty questions in interview and they hired me. Now they have directly allocated me for a project and my TL is giving me work based on my experience, but I’m not able to fix the issues on time🙆🏻‍♂️. Any suggestions?

1. Bcoz of the recession and hiring is not for specific project, is it the right time to join TW or is it risky w.r.t job security?
2. How flexible is TW for WFH or it depends on the client?
3. How is WLB?
