LEK vs Parthenon? Heard both are sweatshops. Would love to hear real life data points. Thank you in advance!

LEK has very minimal travel and is a great path if you want to eventually exit into PE. They do a lot of due diligence work and some of that translates into longer strategy projects. I think average project length is 6-12 weeks.

And yes OP, wherever you go CDD work is grueling and that leads to a lot of attrition. There are some exits to PE, but not a lot. Most funds still very much prefer bankers

Very subjective but I’d say Parthenon has a better culture and WLB. In specific industries (eg life sciences and aviation), LEK has a much stronger reputation.

Conversely, I believe Parthenon is quite strong at Education and Software.

What up Fam! 2 years later. I’m at LEK now! Not a sweatshop and learning a ton!

I think I will only last 2 years

Another voice adding in average ~60 hours a week. Worst week I've had was ~75, only has two weeks above 70 and I've been here for a couple years now

Which office are you at

How come they don’t hire more people to do CDD work?

funny

Thanks everyone, this has been super helpful

What have you heard have the wlb? Currently feels like it’s a meat grinder and people just peace’s out after 2 years

60 seems to be the average. Firm has started to track and post hours by level. Not sure where 80 regularly is coming from

like

I heard Parthenon staff you on multiple projects (not sure if true but sources seem reliable)

I’ve done both models and the multi-project staffing model is a bad experience for employees and clients. Good call Parthenon!

Would love some verification: my sense is that LEK has more non-DD work than Parthenon.

I’d say it depends on vertical but on average are weighted more towards DD thank LEK2 is laying out

Is the expect to be in office or can to wfh after 6pm ish? What about wfh Friday?

You can def work from home after 6 (unless the whole team is expected to be here for some reason). You’re expected to come in any day you’re staffed, including Fridays. If you’re unstaffed, you don’t have to come in at all
