Let me give it a try here ... My client is implementing finance in SAP and HCM in workday ... We are trying to point out the dependencies and landed up on last one I.e., worktags ... CONTD

I’ve only seen worktags used in two areas of HCM (cost centers and time tracking). If your cost centers are fully built out based on finance, you may need to check if they want to track certain things on the cost center with worktags (e.g., function, vertical)

Worktags include company, location, cost center, (any organization) etc. and are needed in HCM. Whether you need to use a custom worktags to send GL data (or potentially other integration points) to SAP will depend on what data SAP requires.

Also, think about how the GL dimensions are defaulted as part of on boarding, multi position impact, costing allocations, GL dimension related worktag defaulting and validation rules, time keeping labor level logic, inbound time keeping integration logic including tagging of separate FLSA prem codes associated with OT codes, OTPs/bonuses, earnings and er fringe costing allocations, the priority of these worktags as an overall process, the process for payroll accounting adjustments for reported GL dimension mistakes after the payroll has been competed, intercompany settlement and use of costing company, resulting and spend category worktags on the posting rules, summarization worktag setup etc, etc, etc. There are lots of considerations that haven’t been communicated here so far. You’re just getting very general feedback from these big 4 consultants. DM me if you want some real full picture advice including workarounds for all of the current bugs associated with this setup. Please don’t use custom worktags or orgs for already existing finance ones. It causes us so many FDM issues when that happens
