First of all, get off the Google. It’s not going to do you or your baby any good by worrying yourself to madness. Second, your doctor likely wants to be thorough and is taking proper precautions. Lastly, you will be in my prayers. I believe all will be well. 💗
Thank you, I appreciate it ☺️☺️
So I had something nearly identical to this (not pregnant at the time), and they did a simple skin biopsy and were able to rule out the form of breast cancer you’re concerned about. Turns out it was eczema. I will keep my fingers crossed that it is the same for you!!
Thank you!!
I also had something really similar (not while pregnant) and was terrified of that type of breast cancer that I also found via google, but it was just some random skin redness! Totally understand how freaked out you are (I was too) but echoing HRBP1 I am hopeful for you it’s not that!
Thank you!! ☺️
Cont: I’m just wondering if anyone else may have had something like this during their pregnancy and could it be normal / hormonal / something other than cancer? Literally everything on Google points to inflammatory breast cancer, which is terrifying. I’m still getting it seen by a specialist regardless but my anxiety is going to be so awful until then.
No experience with this but thinking of you!
The 5 deadliest words in the English language are "maybe it will go away." Don't delay going in. Ask when you can expect results. If you get tough news, do not hang up the phone with the doctor until they answer all of your questions, even if the answer is they don't know, and ask for them to help get you into the first available appointment with a breast cancer surgeon. A good one. Surgeons are the cancer quarterbacks and all the other specialists fall inline with the surgeon's plan. You can always cancel or rebook the appointment if you want someone else, but the biopsy/radiology folks generally do not know much about what happens after the initial diagnosis. This is not meant to scare you, but to help you be ready to act in case of news I hope never comes. I got diagnosed on a Friday with no answers or clue what to do. I had to wait til Monday to start doing anything productive. I could have been more prepared to advocate for myself if I had known. Cancer sucks, but it is very survivable if caught early. I really hope it turns out to be nothing, and in all probability, it will be. I am a 6 year invasive ductal carcinoma survivor. My chances of that diagnosis at 32 were 0.41%. Just get the biopsy handled ASAP.
My mom just shared tonight that she was diagnosed with stage 3 invasive ductal carcinoma. She only had a biopsy so I’m hoping that it hadn’t spread. Do you have any advice for what to do in terms of supporting her? How do I find the best doctors, what can I buy her to make things more comfortable, what are good support groups? Thanks so much!! 🙏
