Comp - satisfied Culture - generally good but EY nice is irritating as hell. Consensus is the mother of mediocrity in my opinion, but here there are so many partners that just go with the flow - no opinions, no courage to be different or to drive change; sometimes that’s paired with inability to sell and deliver, but it takes us a while to deal with that. It is frustrating especially considering the significant changes we want and signed up for that we allow for that to be the norm and many are actually passive aggressive to people who choose not to prescribe to that. Quality of work - happy in this area - good balance of strategy and enablement, however a lot of this comes down to the partner level, ie. I sell the work that my team and I like and want to do.

I have been with Deloitte for 26 years. Happy with the client opportunities, our compensation, and our culture. As we continue to grow we will have to refocus on our culture in order to maintain the special community we have built.

Compensation low. Underpaid and over worked what with all the metrics to meet and few staff resources to help - and the number is dwindling. Culture sucks - sharp elbowed selfish culture. It’s gotten worse with the new .org structure across advisory and an over indexed on “digital” especially when nobody really knows wth it means. Everybody is winging the internal upskilling piece Quality of work - still decent although it will quickly be negatively impacted with the dwindling staff and increased number of lateral/ catalyst hires or direct admit partners who lack content, don’t have the network, don’t know what it means to roll up the sleeves BUT talk the big talk to come across cool

I’ve been a partner for 25 years first at PW,/PwC, then KPMG and now at GT. I know that I could make more money at the Big 4 but prefer the culture here. (It’s not perfect but it’s good and we’re intentional about it. The quality of work is fine. IMO any partner who is unhappy with the quality of the work they are performing should sell better quality work. If your platform is holding you back, move to a place that is a better fit.

Compensation: Very satisfied. Share value is very strong Culture: Very passive aggressive. Super sharp elbows and every person for themselves attitude. All about individual revenue which means you have Partners selling/delivering things way outside their own capabilities using Managers/Directors. Very short term innovation support Mainly focused on “sure things” and not enough support for the “next thing”. Quality of work: Good so long as you sell what your interested in. But, the firm is heavily focused on strategy/assessment like work. A lot less in transformation/implementation work that actually solve problems .

MD here - completely agree. Propping up partners who don’t have the technical or delivery skills. Very frustrating.

Culture, the best teaming culture I have seen. Quality of work, well that’s kind of up to us partners ;) Compensation, we should be focused on long term value for the partnership not annual compensation.

I feel like we are honestly on par with any firm in the world in all three respects. At least in FS, where I work

Similar to the above Pay is ok Culture is terrific, especially relative to other Big4 where I’ve worked. Best thing about the place. Work quality is practice-specific, I assume. Out practice is great, but I don’t know if that’s always the case.

I came over from EY because I had the chance to do more compelling work in my area of focus, but I haven’t really experience too much of a difference in quality of life from EY. I’d say I’m reasonably satisfied with comp, but am frustrated by some other partners who don’t pull their weight.

Deloitte Partners - I’m being recruited by Deloitte but kinda hesitant b/c my perception is the mothership is too big that I’d be “just another number”. Is my perception wrong? Is the direct admit support strong to help me land on my own two feet?

I came to Deloitte from PwC as a direct admit. There is definitely a support network in place to help you get traction and be successful. And, with a firm that continues to grow there is a big need for leaders - so traction shouldn’t be too hard. I would say comparative to the culture at PwC it is hands down better. I personally haven’t experienced the “sharp elbows”...I have found the opposite. Very collaborative

Good Q PWC2 What general practice area?

Comp - good not great Culture - exceptional “Cache” of work (believe this better captures the essence of the question: good but not great. To prior poster, say more about “sharp elbows”. I have been recruited before, but that is always the concern...

Yes apologies that’s what I mean by patchy. We are on par with MBB but only operate in select areas at the moment

I personally am very satisfied in all three categories. I've been here 17 years, and can't imagine having been anywhere else. I feel like Deloitte is competitive with MBB with the quality of opportunities we're getting - at least from what I'm seeing. I know Im biased, but if anyone is interested in making the switch, please let me know!
