~95K, I feel lucky to earn this much and to enjoy my job and feel excited about growth.

In 2008, my mom lost her job. Our family of 5 survived on my dad’s income of like 40K, and she worked the oddest odd jobs so we could keep the home we grew up in, as debt piled up.My parents are young and still working. Neither of them went to college. Their marriage almost ended in the aftermath of the Great Recession over concerns about debt and fears about the future. In the last few years, they both hit the 6 figure mark, and all us kids are grown up. I’m proud of them, they’re proud of all of us

Sr. AD: 100k. Portland, OR. 5 yrs experience in advertising.

Before I took this position 6 months ago, I was a mid-level AD making 70k at a place I started as a designer 5 years ago (starting salary 50k). It just showed me how much more money you make by switching companies. For instance, I now make 15k more than my male sr. copywriter partner. He can’t match my salary because the company has a 3% raise rule (unless under special circumstances probably, like you have another offer and are willing to leave).

I love my job! Clients mean well and are generally open to pushing the brand. My CW partner and account manager are so talented and such great people. I don’t think I’d like my job half as much if I wasn’t working with the team that I am.

Leaving 125k at small indy this week for a new gig - 195k at mid size.

I'm also leaving the VP title for Director, but it's more money and more responsibility so I don't care about that too much.

Leaving the small shop because of unfulfilled promises and lack of clarity about my future. I'm too old (41) to attach my future to an unreliable CEO. Excited about the new role and new salary but nervous about regressions in work/life balance.

My first job out of school in NYC I made 55k as a designer, then second job jumped to 90k as a designer

My company is an LLC, so I get the latest salary breakdown from a specific recruiting firm for every position in locations across the country. I just downloaded the 2022 results. Women, on average, seem to make from 10 to 25% less than men for the same jobs. (There’s a breakdown on that, too. Depressing.) But if anyone wants to know the overall low, medium, and high ranges for their position in their part of the country, I can look it up.

Do you mind talking about your journey to the role? And how you enjoy it/ the everyday tasks? I think I need a more refined job change I’m sick of my place…

Jobs great and I think I’m paid well. These US salaries are spicy

I'm sad, but not surprised, to see how so many dislike their gig, even with great pay. So what is it-- what do you like least about your work? Is it grueling hours, lack of respect/acknowledgement or credit, toxic boss/culture, lack of opportunity, outdated workflows that leave you little to no control of your workload/schedule? Please share.

I am basically the whole creative team, but I'm being paid like a Jr. GD. My Marketing Team is a total of three people, myself included, and I love them. We are a great team and we really appreciate each other, and our immediate supervisor is a leader, not a boss. Great to work for, super appreciative... But the higher structure in this company has been poorly handled. It's all down to one guy and he never follows a product lifecycle, and raises/growth of the team is non-existent at best. People leave or are fired and the position is not refilled, but those tasks are just dumped on the remaining crew.
On the good side, he sold a big chunk of the company to a firm a while back, and do to a recent personal life situation of said CEO, he now longer has a majority share, so they've stepped him down and he's being replaced. Will the replacement be better??? Who knows.

56k, junior creative. Graduated in 2020, so my first gig I was making 32k… I’m happy with my current salary, but seeing what everyone else is making I’m like damn 😅

$150K base, account director - would not say I love this job but haven’t yet figured out how to pivot without going backwards in salary (or maybe that’s just what it’ll take, but I’m not quite resigned to that yet)

likeupliftinghelpful

I should share that I don’t have major complaints about my salary, I’m comfortable and feel reasonably compensated, I just no longer enjoy this work.

100K - Project Manager. Fully remote. Don’t love it, don’t hate it 🤷‍♀️

like

Is your company hiring? Lol

$70k, Content Marketing Strategist. Don’t love it, don’t hate it. I’m running all our marketing efforts as the only marketing hire and definitely believe I’m underpaid.

Like I feel that since covid I’m putting up with more hours and there is no lifestyle anymore that I got when travelling, staying in nice hotels, going to clients, building relationships, being on planes, restaurants.. I loved travelling! Also the events with food and open bar are gone. now it’s... idk, boring. And the salary is not that great in tech consulting. It’s hard to stay motivated. I’m single and young-I don’t want a boring stay home life!
