Let's say I'm looking at an industry or otherwise non-traveling role. Is it fair to consider travel benefits (meals/per diem, miles, alt travel) as part of total compensation?

Also in the midst of exploring exit opportunities; I always mention it to recruiters when they ask me to explain the gap between my current base salary and salary expectations... unsure if it helps my case or makes me come off as a spoiled brat haha, time will tell

Yep. I used this as argument to increase comp when negotiating

Oh absolutely.

Hey everyone! Recent transplant (26 F) who moved here during Covid (family reasons) so still not quite familiar with the areas. I’m currently living in Brentwood but looking to move. I’m considering Marina Del Rey as I want to be a bit closer to the office (in Venice) and the airport for when things open back up/travel resumes. I tried searching here but didn’t see a lot - what is the reputation of Mar Vista (and if possible - how is that different than Brentwood?). All opinions welcome! 🙂

I'm a benefits director at a large company, and we're adding a fertility benefit starting Jan 1. It looks a lot like Deloitte's program (just noticing Deloitte a lot in this bowl), though ours will be slightly more generous with lifetime maxes. I'd love your feedback about what your employers do especially well or poorly, just to ensure we don't have huge blindspots as we roll it out from scratch. Honest feedback from people who are on this journey is appreciated!!
