I had a really weird interview for Creative Director today.

It’s a small startup. HR interviewed me and asked all the hard hitting questions (how do you get design inspiration, how do you deal with design roadblocks, what sets you apart for this role?) which I thought was odd for a screening interview.

They made some affirmative noises then said the next step would be a design test (one pager) which I would present to a panel of interviewers including the CMO.
Anyone else think this is odd?

I work in a start-up - and the founder keeps wanting to see design progress day by day and I feel like am rushed and not given time develop design concepts to their potential. And because of that, I am forced to show them where am at, and then they start nitpicking every little thing in the screens designed even though I myself haven't fully finalised them

What are some things that make a candidate stand out when presenting design projects during an interview?

Are you supposed to send a thank you email after the second round interview? What if you don’t have their email, would you contact the recruiter? Or is it unnecessary

What’s the easiest way to save all the Google slides I’ve created (as an Art Director) when I leave an agency? It’s so tedious sharing with your personal Gmail account (to give yourself access) then saving a copy. Is there a quicker way? In the past, it was all created in a local program like InDesign so this wasn’t an issue.
