Love: WFH, Flexibility of not being “chained to desk” all day because I don’t have to take outside customer calls, ability to complete work assigned at any time of day within 72hrs, no micromanaging from my Supervisor, feeling like I’m my own boss

Hate: getting assigned bulks from others and it throws off efficiency of reviewing suits, monotony, depositions

Received an offer to join a consulting firm as a Consultant specializing in Data Analytics and Visualization. TC is $180K. I would work with the big tech clients. My current base barely breaks $160K but the equity brings TC to about $185K however we are still private so not really $185K. I’m not enjoying the current role and am beginning to look for other opportunities internally. I do like the company culture and people. Should I try to stay and accept the lower salary or take a risk and jump?

English is my second language. I learned it 8 years ago and I have been living in the US for the past 5 years. I communicate very well, but sometimes I feel so bad when I don’t, or when I forget an English word in the middle of a design presentation 😣… Sometimes I wake up and my English is not good that day, for realz.
Any other designers who struggle with this? What do you do to feel or do better besides working on your presentation skills?

Do I negotiate my salary and benefits package? I was offered a 30k raise for a new position at another agency, which ended up being 10-15k more than what I was asking for. I don’t want to seem ungrateful. The downside is the target bonus is only 5%, which is down from my current 10%.

Anyone knows why DI is delaying the onboarding for a bunch of folks selected through campus placement? Some of the hires started their their onboarding in Sept and are well settled in the system and recent update from HR is that for everyone still waiting to get a joining date needs to undergo some training and up skilling program for 12 weeks ( a reduced stipend will be paid along with 1st months salary). What’s the consensus on tattoos in the insurance workplace? I’m in leadership and considering exploring my options due to recent personnel changes. I work remote and have arm sleeves, and any time I would be in-person I’d of course wear a long sleeve shirt to be professional, but worry about a cuff rolling up and tattoos being somewhat visible.
