Agree with Consulting Analyst. It’ll depend on industry, but Director level should be well over $100k. However, having the title of “Director” doesn’t necessarily mean you are actually a Director-level employee with corresponding duties & responsibilities. Title inflation can really skew expected salary, especially in small companies.
Now, that’s not to say that your title is inappropriate for your role. I’m just giving food for thought. If you feel your title does match your role, then you are most definitely underpaid.
Sr. HR Manager/HRBP, Dallas, TX, 7 YOE in HR, $94k + 25% annual bonus, + $10-20k in share payouts. I don’t have a degree and feel fairly compensated for my work.
Yikes! I definitely think you’re underpaid. I live in Seattle. When I was a HRIS Analyst with 2 years of relevant experience, my initial salary was $85k with annual bonus target of 5%…I later found out that base was on the low end of their range!
HR Manager in Phoenix. I work in non-profit + social services. 9 years of progressive HR with a Bachelor's, only 2.5 years in management. I make $67k and know I am making only a few thousand less than our market comps at the 75th percentile. This is common for our roles since we are a non-profit, but I have fringe benefits with my employer that I won't trade right now for higher pay.
Admin Asst. San Antonio, TX., 5yrs admin experience, 4yrs claims experience, and $55k + bonus depending on company performance. I do not feel fairly compensated due to how many people I support.
10 YOE in HR/Talent Acq. and no degree. I'm currently working as a Remote Sr. Recruiter making a $90k base (no profit sharing/incentive or stock options). I feel that I should be making more based on my skillets and years of experience.
I agree with you, your salary does seem pretty fair, however, I am definitely underpaid. Thank you so much! I am hoping to receive a raise that will allow me to stay at my current job! Living in Austin, TX is not getting any cheaper!
I am overwhelmed by all the comments I got and support as well! I wanted to add some more context - I have been with my current company for 3 years, and just had my anniversary! While I am Director of Operations and do everything one does in that role, I am also responsible for - Accounting, Bookkeeping, Payroll, Onboarding - Health & Retirement Benefits -, Small Business Taxes (Up to 18 states so far), and so much more. It seems as everyone agrees I am underpaid, so - What do you feel would be fair compensation?

Whoa. "Underpaid" is an understatement. You should be making at least twice that.
I was just thinking this. Especially in Austin! It is so expensive there.
