What is your best classroom management ideas?

Has anyone used a classroom economy in their resource room? In the past we’ve just done jobs as they are needed, but this year my kids really want specific jobs and I like the idea of an economy.

I feel like my classroom is really small. It’s an interior room, so there are no windows, which doesn’t help. I’m looking for suggestions that make my room feel larger and brighter. Thanks!

Just started my 4th year teaching and finally feeling more confident and comfortable in the classroom. But being a young teacher, I feel like the online/hybrid learning would come more naturally to me (with how to navigate technology especially) since we did it all last year. Even so doing it this year, I’m still lost as to how to do it effectively. Anyone in the same boat?

I recently just got surgery on the ankle. I will be on crutches up until the first day of school. I am 3 floors up. No elevator. Moving classrooms or taking more time off is not an option. Help!

Does it matter what I wear?

My school does not have a/c and my classroom temp hovers around 80-85 when it's about 70 outside.

My usual outfit is khakis, button down shirt over a t shirt, (plus a mask), and I'm sweating all day long. I decided to wear nice khaki shorts and a polo shirt on a really hot day and felt self conscious as soon as I got to school. There's no contract language and I see other teachers dressed like this all the time, but they're female and I'm a male. Should I care?

Trying to decide how to best help out a coworker without overstepping. One of the teachers on my team just finished her first year, and she will be on my team again next year. She really struggled with classroom management this year, and it got so bad that the behaviors were affecting all of us on the team. I feel like I could easily talk to her because I am the closest to her age; however, I’m not our team leader. Suggestions? Should I even get involved? I mean, it was the worst first year ever

What would you put in a teaching portfolio regarding student work? Should I put my students DIBELS scores to show growth or just pictures of activities I’ve done in my classroom? Help!

I need help fellow technology savvy teachers... being alone with not much support from my employer. I am a deaf ed teacher. We are teaching online. I need help with some great direct instructions on how to make a google Bitmoji classroom and any help how to organize and make a clear google classroom so it’s not so confusing to my students. I know the basics but I need more help with things only you get taught from someone who knows or learned tricks to the program or is more savvy...

So my ISD split me between a HS and a MS that recently reopened. I'm the only MS band director. The MS decided, without consulting me, to use the band hall as a classroom and after school enrichment "daycare". AKA added desks and tables. How do I approach this? I feel it is not OK in the slightest. I feel the band hall should reflect the goals, discipline, and culture of the program. Not as an empty classroom.

What are your thoughts and opinions?
