You need to turn in your transcript when you start full time.... So maybe a bit fucked, we'll see.
What I don’t understand is how they did not check your GPA against your transcripts even before you stated your internship. In any case, come clean.
I interned and then started fill time... i never even turned in my transcript until just before my full time position started. So I can see how this might be possible.
Oh God. An auditor that willfully lies. Why do people even think this could be acceptable? You haven’t even started the job and you’re already untrustworthy.
I got 3.485 but rounded to 3.5. Nothing happened to me
What’s your actual GPA, if it’s over a 3.2 your probably fine. The biggest thing is the ethical question it raises, if they find out you lied your hosed. If it was just an accident my guess is they don’t really care
Yeah, what else has OP lied about, and what are they going to lie about after they start full time? That’s my biggest concern.
OP, not condoning your decision, but since we are where we are, was the GPA you listed ever accurate to a GPA you had?
Update: Notified my recruiter.... they are completely okay with it and are glad that I brought it up to their attention
Lol, they were ok with you lying or ok with the “typo” you had?
Yes. I have a friend who got turned down to start full time after she didn’t keep her grades up after the internship.
got an offer a while ago (a year now) and I start full time in two weeks. HR recently requested an updated resume and transcript. so yes, maybe you're screwed lol. if your offer is from a while ago, hopefully they'll assume your gpa dropped over time. but then again they'll be able to tell you lied esp if what you put down and your actual at time of application has a huge difference. each semester's GPA is stated on transcripts as well as your overall GPA (at least mine does).
How big is the difference between the lie and reality?
That can be a pretty big difference - especially if it straddles a key GPA cutoff point and that’s the reason you lied... I could see it being enough justification to pull an offer.
What’s your actual gpa? I had a 3.7 prior to my internship and after my masters it lowered to a 3.5
I had my GPA fall from a 3.5 to a 3.2 after family health issues. Still kept 3.5 on my resume and the place that hired me after my internship didn't say a thing?
Can you say that this was your major GPA (if higher) or your overall GPA (if higher) if neither are higher, then you are probably screwed. GPA does matter for the first 3 years of working IMO
Do they even still ask for official transcripts ? I thought they don’t anymore I know someone who got into Deloitte with an actual gpa of 2.3 but said they had a 3.5 on resume No one checked He’s still there and is now a senior
D&T asks for transcripts
Honestly they probably won’t even notice.. the gpa isn’t even a huge factor in getting the job it just gets you in the door
