Hello!

I finished my final round(s) for a TAM position at Google (GCP) last week and was told by my recruiter that my feedback was great and that I made a solid impression on the team and am "firmly in the running". I was supposed to hear back this week (according to the recruiter) but he just told me that it's still in the process and that I'll have to wait for another week or so.

Is this common at Google ? I have heard they are notorious for being really slow with their hiring process.

This guy I'm seeing occasionally complains about how toxic online dating is so I have tried to be considerate with him, i.e. be upfront and talk out any issues, treat him with kindness and provide reassurance I like him. Curious if my referral is still applicable? Let me explain the situation: I got referred for a job and a referral link came in to my email, I clicked the link and applied via Workday. After I applied I found a weird formatting error on my resume (panic mode). So I withdrew my application, which doesn’t allow you to reapply. I then reclicked the same referral link in my email, and when Workday came in I reapplied with a new email. Do you think the referral is still applicable ?

For those, like me, who are getting Covid complacent: this isn’t over yet. My 36 year old cousin died today, he caught the virus working in the kitchen of a nursing home. He had asthma and diabetes so was high risk, but he was in a county with 7 total deaths before today so he thought he was safe. A father of four, only child to a single mother, only grandchild of the grandparents he lived with. Even if you can catch this virus and be ok, please remember who you could spread it to.
