Does BCW not allow conservatives to be employed at this company? I’m sitting through another meeting where we are highlighting amazing women and it is so politicized I am completely offended. AOC, Biden, Ilhan, Hilary... I mean at try to be inclusive when speaking of diversity. You can’t name a single female in the Conservative party throughout history?

I'm trying to get my male director to see the importance of diversity on a team, however I'm flopping. And now I hear that 2 out of 4 of us women on my team are thinking of leaving mostly because of his ignorant attitude towards diversity and inclusion efforts (more notably, though, sexist prejudice). Is this something you can teach someone, or will I just continue to see the team bring on more and more white male colleagues until I'm snuffed out myself?

Hello! Okay, so in the workplace when coworkers ask about holidays everyone always mentions their family - husband, wife, kids. I always feel so uncomfortable when they assume I have a boyfriend/husband when I have a female partner but I feel like correcting them or just saying my partner will get me judged. Do you think the workplace just isn’t too accepting of sexual orientation for always assume the gender roles or am I just completely overthinking this?

I've often heard "diversity of thought" (i.e. conservatives) as being callously injected into the diversity convo. Typically this coming from white men. What are your thoughts on this?

I want to fully transition into the DEI space but don’t know where to start… any advice on certificates or career pathways would help!

What do you wish design students would learn in school to ease the transition into needs of business? I have seen an increasing need for more education/inclusion/overlap into other areas of business that depend on design teams so they understand what goes into the process. As well as design teams into the other business teams. This would alleviate tensions and improve quality product delivery due to the major miscommunications that occur so frequently.

The ad industry is legendarily homogenous. Won’t unionizing simply close ranks & protect existing white professionals, who then protect other professionals just like them, resulting in LESS diversity?

Does anyone have a recommendation for the best way to respond to "Well, how many people does this *really* affect?" from a stakeholder? This "Marketer" mindset needs to change, and I know my tone immediately changes for the worse when I hear this response. My most recent answer: "It doesn't matter; it only takes one person to file a claim." That was a knee-jerk reaction; I don't want to make it about the backstop the law provides. It's about inclusion informing better experiences for everyone.

We’ve recently started to have diversity and inclusion trainings, and some of those trainings have been emotionally draining for me.
