Move to research triangle in NC. ~75% of your neighbors with be New England expats

Bay area is stupid expensive, 2x Boston at least. I'd recommend Austin, TX. Maybe Denver, but it can get cold too.

like

Chicago is too cold, Bay Area is too expensive plus higher taxes on everything. I pretty much been to 40+ states, still don't know where I want to live. 😔

Tampa/St Pete serve me pretty well 🙃

How about you just buy a warmer jacket and some new gloves? Love Boston, wouldn't change it for anything.

Bay Area is overrated

like

Dallas - it's a dry heat, transportation hub, almost equidistant to the coasts, low cost of living, no state tax, decent schools - no brainer 😉

Tampa Bay Area is great!

Austin TX or Charleston SC or Charlotte NC or Richmond VA or Wash DC

Raleigh Durham OP, I haven't experienced it personally which is why I didn't mention it - thanks to McK1

2nd DFW, it's pretty great here. Cheap af

If you have been too/lived in 40 states and still don't know where you want to live, reassess what is important to you. There is no perfect place. Every city has tradeoffs, strengths and weaknesses. Stop looking for a mythical city with no traffic, low taxes, great food and culture, with a football team that wins the super bowl very year. Settle somewhere and make a life.

like

I would say Seattle

Bay Area

Austin is too hot 😥

Guess chicago is out #-7

@McK1: Not looking for perfect, looking for reasoning. And no, not living in that many states, just been to them. But to your point, need to settle somewhere other than Boston. Thanks for your suggestion.

San Diego? Cheap rent

What area and how cheap? I like the Coronado Island but they ain't cheap

Not sure about cheap but I'd look at La Jolla Village (not by-the-sea La Jolla, it's expensive af), downtown, or Sorrento Valley
