About to move cross country for the first time. Any tips? Things you wish you had done differently? I’ll be taking a week off to drive across the country & then unpack, etc. Using pods to move everything so they’ll deliver it a few days after I arrive. For 🐠 that paid off their mortgage, how do you handle insurance and taxes? Our mortgage payment includes that. We are close to paying off the house and trying to figure out what this means to our monthly payments and what process we need to follow (contacting insurance company, county, etc.).

I'm guessing that insurance bill will come in monthly/quarterly similar to car insurance. And taxes can just be paid at year end?
