Hello all, I have offers from both EXL and Clairvoyant (acquired recently by EXL). I was wondering if there would be any issue if I choose one over the other? Leaning towards Clairvoyant a bit because of the discussion with HR. Also EXL HR is saying that they will issue laptop after joining. Is this normal?

10-12 days back I had an interview with UBS. I have not received any feedback yet. In UBS portal application is shown as interviews in progress. I tried sending mail to the recruiter asking for feedback but no response. Can I assume I did not clear the interview or interview process takes this much time.

I purchased a home with the intent of living in it once DT allowed us to return to office, but the return date kept getting pushed back so I haven’t moved in yet. I’ve been staying at my parents house 2 hours away and plan on remaining with them until the office opens up. Would i get in trouble if I rent my home out? I fully intended on living in the home at the time of signing but covid just got worse so my original plan hasn’t worked out yet.

Do you feel like it's a ripoff to be in advertising when you don't care for free drinks and other BS and everyone else is benefiting from it while you suffer the low pay because of it?

I’ve always been super passionate about my job, even though I realised I’m not saving the world with advertising. But since my dad got sick, I totally lost my spark. I get my job done, but it costs me so much energy just writing a mundane newsletter. It feels like advertising lost its whole purpose for me, since I’ve been confronted with “real life problems” instead of client problems. Anyone got any ideas how to get out of that rut again? (btw: I’m a German not an English copywriter)

hey, fishies! i got a dilemma. would you take an offer that’s $5k less than your desired salary range/expectations? (e.g. you say your range is $115k - $120k & they come back with $110k). but also this would technically be a $5k cut from your current salary, which is pretty much maxed out for its current title/salary band.

HOWEVER, i’d be moving from a midsized agency to a very prestigious agency, which also covers 100% of your healthcare premium AND deductible…

The average EBITDA for our industry is about 15%, but if you look beyond the spreadsheets, you’ll notice it isn’t a healthy 15%, it’s one built on over-working and under-paying high-level talent.
