Same thing happens to me SC. I’m actually so much less productive when I’m slower. The only thing that motivates me is to head to coffee shop, with a Spotify focus playlist, a list of things I want to do. It creates some focus and urgency if that’s the day I’m trying to have. Otherwise don’t beat yourself up- you’re in between projects
I was here OP. Very recently.
Here are few things that helped me.
1) I bought new room fresheners (them fancy ones) - I tidied up my room and my house and now things look nice and smell excellent- Thereby uplifting my mood and well-being
2) got new personal care items- got new moisturizers and body wash, hair care and bath bombs. (Again- I got really nice ones.) This way I now look forward to taking care of myself and indulge in a self care routine- during the start of my day and right before I sleep- which surprisingly brings a lot of peace and quiet. (Bonus- I look my best when I do go out and meet people)
3) Got hot chocolate/ malted drink /coffee flavors stocked at home. I know this is silly. But now, instead of feeling depressed now I have sound sleep from that whole hot cocoa goodness. It works perfect for the weather.
After I made these small changes now I feel a lot more refreshed and ‘rested’.
It’s okay to WFH. But try and spend some time in the evenings outside where you can walk around - maybe visit a mall- just so that your body gets some exercise and you interact (albeit indirectly) with people. Maybe the barista or the doorman or even a stranger or a cute dog. Every bit of warmth counts!
Last by not the least. Give yourself time. Eat good food. If you can’t or don’t feel like cooking- order. Sometimes it may be just your hormones messing with you. You will get over this! Take care.
thanks ladies. I just feel a bit guilty that I’m wasting my time. I picked up my study materials to prep for an exam that I wanted to take now. Although still not as productive as I usually am, but its good to have something on my plate.
So make sure you’re takin vitamins, especially D and B. Seasonal blues a a very real thing and with the weather getting depressing, it doesn’t help.
I can totally relate
Meh. It happens. I’ve gone through this a couple times and i think it’s necessary to reset a bit. It becomes a problem if it lasts a long time but for a few days, just enjoy the light workload
