Asking for advice: Hi ladies, how do you tell your SO that you want private time with your friends/colleagues? For context, my SO and I have been living together for 2 years. He doesn’t have a lot of friends and is a quiet type. His current friends are all our mutual friends. We do enjoy spending time just us two a lot, especially during this pandemic. However, I do have a group of colleagues/friends that I’m close to and usually prefer to hang with them seperately. (cont. in comment)

My coworker’s friend who I met a couple years ago liked me. He kissed me as the bar closed, but we didn’t exchange numbers. We later matched on bumble and he said “should we pick up where we left off.” I didn’t get the chance to respond and he deleted me. Then, I’ve run into him twice recently in Chicago. I asked my coworker if he is single, he said “He sure is!” and gave me his number. We texted briefly but then didn’t respond when I asked if he had any fun plans this wknd. Now idk what to do.

My school is a small rural school. We don’t offer many in-house electives. What’s happening is students are having to take whatever is there to fill their schedules. If they aren’t interested in the class, then it becomes an opportunity for disruptions because they aren’t interested. What are some electives you have at your school that are new, innovative and interesting for todays high school students?

I received a job offer for a PM position with a base of $125K and a 10% bonus, fully remote and ok benefits. The parental leave is pretty bad, just FMLA and STD/LTD so the most I’d get is 60% of my salary for 12 weeks. I’ve cancelled most of my interviews except for one where the pay is $135K, 20% bonus, hybrid schedule, good benefits and 16 weeks fully paid parental leave. I’d like to start my family in a year or two - is it better to take the remote gig or the hybrid role with full paid leave?

Any advice on telling your boss you’re leaving your team? For context, I’m the 4th one leaving within a month (boring product, not toxic or anything), and the manager id be telling is my skip level, as my old manager left the team and I’m actually moving to his new team. Trying not to throw shade on my old (new? lol) manager bc I know that he spent all of his career in this department before moving. Is there any way to soften the blow, other than just giving a 2-3 week notice?

I’ve always gotten the advice that when you want to switch jobs you should take interviews from places you’re not actually interested in, so you can understand your value in the market and have better negotiating power.

I’m doing that rn - took a couple interviews to gauge my skills, my market value, and see what I need to work on for interviews that I actually care about.

However, I feel really guilty about wasting their time and going all the way knowing I’ll just say no at the end. Wwyd?

Facing a bit of a dilemma and looking for some advice. I recently applied for a new job, went through an extensive entire interview process and was rejected. Throughout the interview process, the recruiter and interviewers had provided me with very positive feedback and even lead me to believe that I would most likely receive an offer. I was very disappointed as this is the second occurrence. Has this happened to anyone else? Any tips?
