I’m back to having no billable work again. My department almost completely dried up when covid started, so I’ve been relying on work from other busy departments at my firm to keep me busy since March. I feel like I start a new job every couple of weeks and am constantly begging for work. I’m just exhausted. Can anyone else relate?
Today is my first day of my first IVF cycle. After getting the green light to start IVF based on my negative COVID test, baseline ultrasound and bloodwork, I feel relieved that this day has come after unsuccessfully trying to conceive naturally and with IUI, and even excited now. LET'S DO THIS!
In the past two weeks my work has picked up 10x what it was previously. Now I’m working 70+ hr weeks and often my projects are submitted nearly before deadline since I’m shuffling multiple at once. My team is understaffed and there’s no plan to hire people due to COVID-19. How do you manage to tackle the day instead of let it tackle you? I feel like no one knows how much I’m suffering since I’m WFH’ing and try to relay positive emotions over FaceTime or messages.
If I have a bunch of money sitting in stocks (no options)...do I sell now? Wait & hope market goes up if/when COVID panic is over? 😬😬😬
COVID life has got me in some major frump. What cute clothes are you guys wearing? Looking to update a bit for spring. Still anticipating to be mostly at home though through summer if not longer.
Someone at PwC recently said they wouldn’t want anyone other than DJT leading the country during the coronavirus crisis. Unless that person is the devil harvesting souls, I hope they’ll read this:
Family, In case some of you are wondering, see below how to calculate your stimulus check : https://www.washingtonpost.com/graphics/business/coronavirus-stimulus-check-calculator/
Is Qatar airways a good option for parents coming from India in June? Are there any covid restrictions other than presenting a negative report? Their trip would be from New Delhi to Seattle if it matters
I’m not a shy person, but I’ve always had issues speaking in front of groups. I grew up with a lisp (which I’ve since overcome), but I still stumble over my words a lot. I think COVID has exacerbated this a lot since I’m not able to see my teammates or read their body language. I’m a scrum master, so leading calls is sorta in the job description. Any suggestions on how to become a better professional speaker?
Just had my first business trip since COVID. I just want to say FU to everyone who is inconsiderate enough to recline and try to break my kneecaps for 2.5 hours.
Hi all, I was a civil Engineer earlier and was laid off facing the Covid brunt and have upgraded to Data Science now, actively looking for a job to support my family. So if anyone can help or give leads it would be grateful to help support my family. Please please 🙏🏼
Feeling hopeless today professionally. I’ve tried to trooper on throughout this pandemic but today it all caught up to me. Exhausted, mentally drained and just so negative. Feel like all I do is work since covid. Have tried to set boundaries but it’s impossible when people can reach out on my cell. Get taken advantage of regularly for trying to do what right thing to support my teams. I like my job but I don’t know that I can keep this pace and that adds stress too
Has anyone negotiated temporary lower rent with your land lord during covid? (my bf lost his job and I'm the only one making money).
Those of you who are waiting or opposed to the COVID vaccine - do you feel obligated to divulge your true vaccine status to restaurants, employers, etc.?
Is PwC mAtching donations to charities helping fight the COVID crisis in India? Could not find anything specific on the giving website
Interviewing at McKinsey from a big 4 consulting firm - currently an engagement manager interviewing for an engagement manager role on the partner track - comp at big 4 is currently $165k base, what’s a reasonable amount to ask for at mck? I got an Ivy League exec mba in 2020 as well, which hasn’t yet been reflected in my big 4 comp (we mostly didn’t do raises because of covid last year). Trying to understand how much higher mck might be willing to go?
In case this helps anyone in here who doesn’t already know. Breakfast, lunch and dinner. https://nypost.com/2020/04/03/how-hungry-nyc-residents-can-get-free-meals-amid-coronavirus/
DXC Technology - Looking for some info on WLB, compensation, career growth to Partner (if one exists at DXC). Currently SM at Accenture. Recruiter reached out for Director role at DXC... Trying to figure if I should spend time on the recruitment process with DXC.
WYR? Work on a prestigious brand but don’t make anything. Ever. With an up and coming agency that could be something cool some day? Or an agency where you make ALOT and have the opportunity to work on a lot of different brands but have to spend a year working on one terrible client with no work life balance?
Anyone here ever worked with a vocal coach? I need recommendations for a lesson or two before auditioning for a pseudo professional chorus group...
Do any other firms offer pension like EY does? And what are the terms? I know EY recently changed the retirement plan but we are still fully vested after 5 years
Watching my condo become spotless while I’m WFH just makes me so happy! Love having a cleaner, she organizes, picks up, does dishes and laundry too! can’t wait to sit in silence in my clean home! 😍
Recently got promoted to SM at one of the Big 3, how much raise should I expect taking a lateral position at a competitor?
EY kids, has anyone ever negotiated with the partner during the annual compensation conversation? If so, how did it go?
Asalamualaikum everyone, hope everyone had a great thanksgiving holiday and some Black Friday shopping with family and friends? This is my first time in this bowl and I’m liking what I see so far.
For those of you who have transferred offices, did you know anything about the office/clients/culture beforehand? In other words, how did you know it was going to be a good fit ? Or did you wing it
Made it to the final interview at a pretty good company for UX Design. Was super excited for it, but didn't make the cut. What do you all do to recover from rejection? Any tips? (Do you prevent yourself from getting attached in the first place?) Also, how do I identify my shortcoming in the interview process so I know what I can improve on them for the next?
14 people on EY USA had been barred from coming to usa. Who knows, thet were out of country for vacation, maybe meeting an ill relative or even attending a funeral. But that's none of my business
i am irrationally angry/annoyed at my job and it’s affecting my personal life. My bosses expect me to pick up the slack from other coworkers and I am one of the only people on the team who constantly has statutory deadlines year round (both GAAP or IRS driven) so slacking off really isn’t an option. any tips on how to cope? i don’t want this affecting my romantic relationship

Has anyone exited into Apple’s Global Supply Manager role? If so, can you share your thoughts/experiences on the position? Currently a supply chain consultant w/ 2 YOE considering the move.
Curious, anyone works or has worked in the PCS group at Marks Paneth? If so, what is the culture like, perks, hours, comp for a senior? Considering on applying but just want to get some insight scoop. Thanks!
I’m working on my first-ever paid consulting gig. Was brought on to a project by another consultant - I’m marketing, he’s comms. We’ve been working on a project proposal for a company he’s already been working with - looking like it will be approved this week. My question is: Do I invoice the consultant who brought me in for time I spent on the proposal or it is non-billable like it would be agency side?
Besides salary, how to pick between job offers?
Entry level jobs nowadays
Currently a consultant with 3 YOE at Deloitte making $82k, got an offer from a well established startup as a Project Manager for $110,000. I’m not super passionate about PMO, and love the people I work with at Deloitte. Any advice?
Just received a COBRA insurance letter from current employer - recently got hired by this employer. I’m confused, I thought COBRA was offered after you resigned or are laid off?
