Not Atlanta, we’re full lol
Unpopular opinion - aside from money, will you be happy in Atlanta or Austin? My friend was actually thinking of doing the same (choosing between the two as well). After having been in both cities several times, I advised him to visit them as a local and look at what day to day was, yes, it was cheaper, but he is a very social person with a lot of connections to NYC (friends, family, colleagues, etc..). He quickly realized that the extra cost of living in NYC was the cost of him having easy access to the things he enjoys. Doesn’t mean that you wouldn’t get it in either ATL or Austin, but life style is different and something you need to include in your decision aside from the dollars.
Yes, the tax and cost of living change will make up the 15% and then some.
Yes. You can buy some assets easily here in Atlanta or Austin
Austin as there are no state taxes in Texas... may make the decrease worth your wild
Depends whether you like New York or Atlanta
Yes, you should go
Wait what do those numbers have anything to do with you moving?
The question is how much of a decrease?
about 15% decrease. looking at the overall net pay less the total expenses (including additional expenses i will have moving and being in a non-car city), the transfer is making me nervous
You can stay in midtown/sandy springs and uber/Marta every where important. If you ah e clients in the boonies, get a rental car and expense it
Moved from DC to Atlanta...it's ok over here.
