Anyone worked with Grand Homes? Any reviews?
I am having 100% hike offer letter and after 2 months of resignation SDO came up for negotiation to retain me by giving 10% hike.

Kya fayeda double engine business model ka, kya fayeda double digit profit ka.
And some are spreading rumors like a government that they are having 3 day WFO and going to give hikes to emplyees of 6 to 8% again by end of year. 😂🤣

I get upset when I see your cost of education and rate of medical bankruptcies
As a Brit in Denver now, I agree with the salary discrepancy. But education and healthcare is so much better in Europe. You won't bankrupt yourself on healthcare like so many Americans do.
That said, as a Manager in US I make 218k total, I wouldn't make half that in London, and that's a salary differential that my SO and I are not willing to let go to move back home. We can afford better housing and quality of life than in England in my opinion.
I get upset when I want a crumpet and can’t find them anywhere
Last trip to Seattle, I went to The Crumpet Shop 🙂 Check it out if you go to PNW!
Don’t be upset. I have $500k in student debt.
Grass is always greener…
Was going to echo this same sentiment.
I'm still paying on student loans (undergrad + MBA) after 20 years. In addition, there is a need to fund retirement, health savings accounts, kid's higher education, etc.
If you're in the top 10% in the United States, I imagine your standard of living and ability to accumulate wealth are higher than in Europe.
I am sometimes puzzled working with British, when they go the opera on a Tuesday or on Friday have office meetings all day long and at 3 pm head off to the pub. Not surprised they earn some of the lowest salaries in Europe.
What’s wrong with going to do smt on a Tuesday? Do u do nothing all week? What is life?
US and world economy (capital, socialist et al) runs on American consumer spending which needs capital.
Is that something you see a particular difference in with consulting, or is it all professional services jobs in general? Is partner pay also around half of what you would get in the US?
Expenses are much higher too, for the same services. Turns out somebody has to pay these salaries, and that is us too.
And the expenses do not stop when you lose your income.
If everything goes well for you, then yeah it's good.
I envy your virtually unfettered access to some of the most beautiful places in the world 🇨🇭 🇭🇷 etc
