Is an MBA really worth it for a career pivot?

KPMG I cleared all the rounds of my interview with KPMG and was asked to provide necessary documents and fill a CAF form a week back and had a HR discussion too. I have requested for about 3Lakhs additional fixed pay since my current CTC has increased and HR said she will get back on this. It's been a week and haven't heard back on the offer letter. How long do you think I should wait. Please wait.

If you're under 35, NYC is more fast paced and fun. You can also earn 50-100% more for the same job in NYC vs what you would earn in London. I'm a native New Yorker and prefer London but that's because I'm older and I already spent my life in NYC so I don't see the same stuff that tourists or transplants see, it's regular life to me. Even though I've been going to London at least a couple times a year for the last 20 years, it is always fresh and exciting to me because I don't get to spend all of my time there. Also, my interests and personality are more suited towards what London has to offer. I think if you can start your career in NYC, there are more opportunities and chances to advance your career faster, you will be paid much more and can invest that money, then after 10-15 years when you are hopefully in a senior position, you can transfer back to London where the earnings difference won't be as pronounced at the executive level. Plus with everything being remote, you can still spend a significant time in London. It's not technically permitted, but I have gotten alway with spending 4 months out of the year there on average over the last 5 years with zero issues. Part of this at a big 4.
Oh, you’re talking about spending 4 months in NY sorry I read it opposite

I would never miss a chance to live in NYC and make double my London comp. The city has a completely different vibe and it just feels way more modern and full of energy.
I know Americans like UK due to the chill vibe and proximity to EU but then post covid realities have made this place less appealing to me at least. Before moving to UK, I had never thought twice before ordering food or meeting my friends for a beer but the cost of living struggle is unreal (And mind you, I make early six figures here but still don't feel satisfied). Taxes here are shocking.
Specific to MBA aspirations, you should also know that MBA is not equally valued in UK job market as US. It's way better long term to stick to US post MBA just for the ROI. UK has slightly better WLB though.

IMO London is a better overall city (cleaner, safer, better transport, etc.), but career and salary wise, I'd pick NYC in a heartbeat.
I have been "window shopping" for the best business school and based on interviews from many alumni, European business schools are better than American (can't give specifics without writting 1000 word essay so just watch YouTube videos of their testimonies - key word: US vs European MBAs)
In terms of where you want to settle, I lived in NYC for nearly 8 years and I lost my appetite due to how rapidly it changed after covid! Dirtier street, more homelessness, can't even walk around Soho without seeing trash or someone high swearing me off, ruder people, subway violence etc. Recently started considering moving to London, no amount of money can make me stay in NYC. Yes you can make a lot more money in NYC but how far can you get with that cash but is it worth your sanity?!
