What's up with strategists in NYC with less than 10yrs experience who have the Group Strategy, VP or SVP title? I see this a lot at big holding network agencies notably McgarryBowen, Havas, and FCB. Are agencies just desperate because they never trained enough folks so now are giving inflated titles? Do the titles not mean the same as they did like 5yrs ago?

Our agency doesn’t do interviews as part of the planning process, maybe fairly common given timeframes for projects. Trying to figure out my personal planning process though and I get a lot out of talking to people who fit the target — however, I have no clue how to find the right people outside of people I already know. If you have experience finding interviewees on your own would love to hear how you go about it.

Do any of you find that your brand teams are trigger happy when it comes to doing workshops? I find that whenever someone isn’t sure about something, there’s any instant desire for a 1-2 day workshop that Strategy leads. I love workshops, but doing them constantly is horribly exhausting.

What brands (any category) claim to be well-crafted? The more ridiculous the better. I’m a little stuck thanks to mid-week brain fatigue 🙏
