Coworkers have this chat going as we navigate this big project. But there are times where they’re just chatting about life, TV, etc until 11pm. So I’ll have this steady chiming/buzzing on my phone. Naturally, you mute the chat, right? But THEN, mixed in the chatter might be “Hey Dan, we need comps of XZY.” Which of course is buried by the time I unmute and see the 80 messages they sent overnight. And of course I can’t be the grinch of the group, breaking up all this company camaraderie. Right?

Recently received pay bump to stay with my bank by leveraging 2 outside offers. I have been offered a VP2 role (currently VP1) with another group within the bank. More work, but really interesting role doing the same work but for different clients.

Hiring manager essentially said it would be a lateral move with no pay bump because I am now making market.
