I feel this 100%. Have you looked into Adult ADHD?
Came to say this ^^ Wife was having issues with focus and she was diagnosed with adult ADD.

You need to treat work like work. Have a dedicated area that’s your work station (table/desk and chair), leave tv/personal laptop/phone behind (and no browsing on work laptop). Get dressed like you’re going into the office. Start at the same time daily. And when you need to take a break LEAVE the work area.
Idk if this is depression or burnout or some clinical problem like ADHD. Not sure what do I do to take the first step
It might help, yes. I'm on an implementation project, so the only office I have is my client site. Of course I can go into the local Accenture office, which is something I should really consider and see if it makes any difference
I am bi-polar and have those same concentration issues from time to time. Check with your EAP. You can get free counseling sessions with a psychologist or connected to a psychiatrist for evaluation. Those resources have been invaluable to me.

Are you fully remote? If so, did you have these same issues when you were in person? I feel exactly the same as you, and I honestly think I need some concrete WFH “rules” to be more focused. I love the WFH concept (especially because I have kids and it helps me to skip the commute and be closer to their school, and to get home stuff done during the workday that would normally consume my weeknights/weekends). But I’m definitely slacking at work, which in some ways is fine, but in other ways just makes a lot of my waking hours pretty pointless. I haven’t practiced what I’m about to preach (yet!!) but I’m thinking some WFH rules/schedule will help. Like I’m going to do XYZ today for work and then I’m free to go do XYX chores or personal thing. Or I’m going to work certain hours. Or maybe even be more disciplined about sitting at a table for work time (I’m often on the couch). Going into the office isn’t top of my solution list (yet) but maybe you want to give it a try.

Mine are 2nd grade and Kindergarten, so I totally get it. I think just be honest with yourself. If you’re feeling depressed and don’t know why, talk it out with a therapist. If it’s just work, try a more structured WFH area/timeline. Or go to the office just once a week (just during your son’s school day) and see if you have a good productive day. Good luck!!
I can barely focus on the doc at hand. Most of the times, I am distracted again.
I tried working out and I did it for a few weeks and gave up on that. Most of the times I find myself sitting on my bed, with my laptop in front of me, just mindlessly staring at fhe wall or watching the same show for a millionth time or pinging someone on text.
I cannot get proper sleep but that has been an issue for a VERY long time...
I want to not be like this at work. I want to learn. I want to be disciplined, I want to perform. But, it's like I'm physically uncapable of that. I feel so so guilty for living a life like this. But idk how to get out of this rut
I often find myself yelling at my kids or feeling like this is way too much stuff to do in life or the feeling that I'm just plain inadequate.
I have some time off scheduled in the next couple weeks. But I'm not convinced and confident I'll fix this problem. I really hope I do but I don't know if it will fix it
I’d get some bloodwork done and make sure it’s not a thyroid issue.
I do have a hypothyroid condition and I've had it for the past 16 yrs. Got it pretty early in life. Thyroid seems to be normal
Hi Adult ADHD person here and basically everything you have said is my life's struggle. I suggest talking to a therapist but also to have a dedicated space for work. I think you might be burnout so maybe some PTO, LOA wouldnt hurt.
Following. I feel the exact same.
May be time for some professional help. Talk to your primary care Dr about it. Sounds like ADHD or possibly even depression. Can you take a mental break for like a week? Maybe go on vacation for a reset to see if that helps? I have kids and get away once a quarter to go visit a friend out of town. Or me and my husband go away for a weekend. It helps to get out of my city and forget my responsibility for a couple of days. I get massages and facial regularly. Self-care is imperative. Find something you enjoy doing
Try going into the office to separate your work life from your home life. It’s hard to create boundaries when work and home life are intertwined.
Sounds like Accenture…
